We caught up with some of our pupils after they opened their GCSE results to hear how they were feeling, what they were most proud of and what advice they would give to younger pupils.

From the nerves and anticipation of Results Day to celebrating their achievements and looking ahead to their next steps, it was fantastic to hear their reflections on their GCSE journey.

Today we are celebrating our wonderful Fifth Form pupils as they receive their GCSE results.

After years of hard work and determination, our pupils have achieved an excellent set of results across a broad range of subjects.

For many, the next step will be Sixth Form at WGS, while others will continue their education through colleges, apprenticeships and other exciting pathways.

Individual highlights include:

Calleigh W-S – achieving 5 Grade 9's, 2 Grade 8's and 2 Grade 7's.
Mia L – achieving 4 Grade 9's and 6 Grade 8's.
Nathanael W - achieving 2 Grade 9's, 6 Grade 7's and 1 Grade 6.
Isla - achieving 2 Grade 9's, 1 Grade 8, and 5 Grade 7s.
Isabell S-S – achieving 1 Grade 9, 5 Grade 8's and 3 Grade 7's.
Harriett C - achieving 6 Grade 8's, 1 Grade 7 and 2 Grade 6's.

On A Level results day, we caught up with some of our pupils to hear about their results, their time at WGS and what comes next.

Over the course of this week, we will be sharing some of their individual success stories - from the results they achieved to the universities, courses and career pathways they are now heading towards.

We are incredibly proud of our Sixth Form pupils Ellie S and Tru B, who have taken on an amazing six-day challenge to walk the length of Hadrian’s Wall in support of Make-A-Wish UK.

Their goal is to raise £2,500 to help grant wishes for seriously ill children, and they have already raised an incredible £1,780!

As they reach Day 6 of their challenge, they are so close to reaching their target. If you would like to support Ellie and Tru and help them get over the finish line, their charity donation link is below.

Every donation, however big or small, will help them make a difference and support the incredible work of Make-A-Wish.

Today we celebrated the results of our wonderful 2026 cohort, with another excellent set of A Level results opening doors to leading universities, apprenticeships and exciting career pathways.
