Join us at Winslow Library for a fascinating talk by Tom Freemantle Wednesday 28th October 11am
Not long ago author, adventurer (and out of shape hobbit), Tom clocked up 11,232 miles, 25 countries, 18 pairs of shoes and seven lost toenails, on a quest to walk around the world.
This talk will cover the first 3000 miles of his journey - a coast to coast yomp across America (with a warm up in Mexico’s Chihuahua Desert) followed by a brief trek through Ireland, Wales and into the heart of England

From 1 October, Library Flex libraries will be open 9am to 7pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays. Amersham Library will continue to offer extended access 7am to 9pm Monday to Friday, and 7am to 7pm weekends.

Over the last year. More than 7,500 customers have signed up, and we've welcomed 42,941 visits across our libraries!

We will review the data and feedback from our seasonal opening hours to help shape future improvements.

It's a great achievement to take part in the challenge and find the joy in reading, and we hope there were plenty of lively tales and stories bursting with song!
