This week we've been exploring our Under the Sea topic with our focus story, Hooray for Fish! by Joanne Partis. 🐠 📖 We enjoyed talking about the different fish in the story and choosing our favourites. We'll continue sharing this wonderful text next week to help embed the story.

Despite the warm weather, the children have been busy creating sea creatures indoors and outdoors. Our little mathematicians have also enjoyed catching and counting fish, using Numicon to match, sort and make patterns. 🔢 🖍️

Acorns had a very healthy snack podding and eating the peas that had grown in Oak View’s new garden area. It also strengthened our fine motor skills. Learning about nature, from plant to plate. 🫛

At Acorn Preschool, we combine music, song, movement and rhythm to help children develop the gross and fine motor skills required for handwriting. Using different body movements, helps children to build the coordination and physical skills necessary for early mark-making and letter formation. It also makes us laugh and feels super slippy, a favourite for Acorns! 🤲🏽
