Year 2 enjoyed their cricket session in the gorgeous weather today, learning all about bowling. Also a big well done to Blake and Liberty for their star of the week certificates! 🌟

After learning about the parable β€˜Jesus calms the Storm’, Year 1 enjoyed creating their own storm pictures with the watercolours this afternoon 🎨 🌊

What a fantastic week we've had in Nursery πŸ’– The children have enjoyed reading The Colour Monster and talking about our feelings. We have been busy making our own colour monster for the classroom.

[09/18/20]   As the individual photographs will be taking place in the hall next Wednesday, Year 1 and Reception will not be doing PE on this day so can wear their school uniforms for their photos. πŸ˜€ Year 1 will only be doing PE on Thursday next week.

Year 6 have been learning all about the artist Georgia O'Keefe who helped people to see the world in different ways. Here are some of our own drawings of skyscrapers.

[09/18/20]   Please can we ask all families to park responsibly outside school. We have had reports from our neighbours of several vehicles parking dangerously at the start and end of the school day on the double yellow lines. The safety of all members of our school family is extremely important to us and some of the parking we have seen recently does put our children at risk when they are trying to cross the road safely. Please note that fines may also be issued for illegal parking.

Why not take advantage of the beautiful weather we are having at the moment and enjoy a walk in the sunshine by parking safely a little further away?πŸ˜ƒβ˜€οΈπŸš˜

We are inviting parents to join us on a zoom call to find out further information regarding the new out of school club opening at St chad’s Prinary School after the October half term.
For more information contact: [email protected]

We’ve made a wonderful start to our deep dark forest topic in Year 2. We have been out exploring our local habitats and observing the many different wildlife that live there. The children created some wonderful minineast art using pastelsπŸ›πŸžπŸ¦‹

Year 2 have been exploring place value to 100 this week in maths. We’ve loved using the denes to help us represent larger numbers!

Year 5 took their geography outside yesterday to explore the playground by listening to instructions using the 8 points of the compass and a map of the area.

Year 3 have made a fantastic start to the year! As part of our outdoor learning, we have been using the playground to practise using number lines! We also celebrated Roald Dahl day by designing our own Roald Dahl inspired drinks! 😁

[09/16/20]   Thank you to all parents and carers for the great response to wearing PE kit on your child’s PE days. A quick reminder that PE kit is part of school uniform and as such the correct kit should be worn each week.
The correct kit consists of, a white t-shirt, black/navy shorts or jogging bottoms and trainers or pumps.
Please ensure that your child is in the correct, weather appropriate, kit.

Year 1 have worked hard today to find the Arctic and Antarctica on a map. Then, we had fun drawing and labelling the equator outside. We’re very excited about our new β€˜Brr...it’s cold!’ topic this half term 🌍 🐧 ❄️

[09/13/20]   Over the next few weeks and months, there will be members of our school family who will need to be tested for Covid-19. As we are now at the start of cough and cold season, the symptoms of a new continuous cough and high temperature will be common. These will most likely be due to a cold but taking a test for coronavirus and isolating until the results are back is the right thing to do.πŸ˜ƒ

Just to be clear - unless a positive test result is received and you are advised to keep your child at home, there is no need to self isolate if someone you know or a member of your child’s class is waiting for a test result.

We hope you have all enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend β˜€οΈπŸ˜Ž

Year 1 have had a fantastic week in school and have settled into their new routines beautifully. This week we had lots of fun in Gymnastics, had a great outdoor maths lesson representing numbers and today we have celebrated Roald Dahl day by discussing our favourite stories. A huge well done to Oliver and Rose for getting our first celebration certificates also. Well done Year 1, keep up the amazing work! 🌟

Please see letter below which has gone home tonight, along with a β€˜what to do if...’ guide which we hope will be helpful if you or a member of your family develop symptoms of COVID πŸ˜ƒ

We received confirmation that our Inclusion Quality Mark Flagship status has been renewed over the summer, following a review day in July. πŸ˜ƒ We are very proud of our inclusive school, well done everybody!😊

We are currently in week two of our delicious dinner menu πŸ˜ƒ The menu can also be found on the noticeboard on the playground and will be changed for the week ahead each Friday. πŸ₯—πŸ²πŸ₯™

[09/02/20]   What a lovely first day back in school we’ve had! It has been so wonderful to have our children back in school and to welcome our new starters 😊 The day has been full of happy smiling faces and the children have settled back into school life extremely well.
Well done everyone!πŸ˜ƒ

We are so excited about seeing all of our children and families in the morning πŸ˜ƒ Please be reassured that other than a few small changes, school is very much as it always has been and we are ready to welcome children back with a smile in the morning πŸ˜ƒ Please see a few reminders below:

- The start/end times for each class are attached to this post as a reminder.
- Breakfast club is open from 8am for those children who have a place booked. Nursery and Reception children will enter breakfast club through the Nursery door on the playground and all other year groups via our office door.
- Children should come to school in full uniform and will only need to bring lunch boxes, water bottles and coats if they are needed.
- Snack will still be available but we ask that children order all snack for the week at the start of each week and bring their money in an envelope with their name on.
- If at all possible, please only contact the office via email or phone to reduce the number of people on the school site.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

[08/31/20]   Hot dinners will be served in school with the menus back to normal this term, starting with a roast on Wednesday πŸ˜ƒ We will share the full menu with you tomorrow.🍲πŸ₯—πŸ₯™πŸ

[08/26/20]   Just a reminder that breakfast club will run from 8am as usual from Wednesday 2nd September, however numbers each day are capped at 30 and a place must be booked in advance. Please email [email protected] for a place if you require one.πŸ˜ƒ

Please see our letter confirming our plans to welcome all children back into school next week. We can’t wait to see you all on Wednesday 2nd September!πŸ˜ƒπŸ“š

Uniform Exchange - Winsford

We are pretty much set up for tomorrow at The Winsford Academy on Grange Lane.

Doors open at 9am

Please bring a bag and a general idea as to what you want (including sizes)

We have covid-19 sanctions in place and everyone has to wear a mask.

We can only allow 30 max inside at one time so there will be social distance ques outside.

We have to operate a track and trace policy so at the door we will have to take a name and a contact number and kept for 14 days.

Remember all uniform is FREE. You don't need to bring anything in exchange or pay for anything. If you want to place anything in the Children's Bone Cancer collection bucket then that is fantastic but not mandatory.

I won't be able to respond to messages tomorrow as I'm sure it will be busy (I'm hoping so) so please don't feel I'm ignoring you.

Thanks and hope to see as many people as possible tomorrow

[07/18/20]   Goodbye and good luck to all of our Year 6 children as they leave primary school. Despite it being a bit of a different end to the year, they should be proud of everything they have achieved throughout Year 6 and their time at primary school πŸ‘ 🌈

We have put together a couple of videos for them πŸ˜ƒ 🀩

A big thanks to all of you who got involved in the virtual school games at home! We couldn't have won this award without you! πŸ…πŸŽ‰βš½οΈ
