🎉 GCSE Results Day 2026 🎉

Today has been a fantastic day of celebration at The Forest School, and we couldn't be prouder of our incredible Year 11 students.

This year's results are among our strongest ever, with a record number of top grades. Nearly 30% of all GCSE grades were awarded at grades 7–9, and 20% of students achieved grades 7–9 in both English and Maths – a brilliant reflection of the ambition, talent and hard work of our students.

A special congratulations to all of our high achievers, including Zibo (11 grade 9s), Aarav (10 grade 9s and an A in Additional Maths), Alex, Samuel and Reuben, whose exceptional results are just some of the many inspiring success stories from today.

We are equally proud of every student who has earned the qualifications to take the next step towards their chosen future in the Sixth Form. Behind every result is determination, resilience and the support of families and dedicated staff who have championed our students throughout their journey.

It was also a pleasure to welcome Ming Zhang, Director of Education for Wokingham, who joined us this morning to celebrate with students, families and staff.

Congratulations, Year 11 – you've done yourselves and our school proud. We can't wait to see what you achieve next! 🌟

We are incredibly proud to celebrate another outstanding year of A Level achievement at The Forest School.

2026 has seen new records broken and continued improvement across our Sixth Form, with nearly a quarter of our students achieving A–B grades across three academic subjects. Our A*–A performance has grown again, with some STEM subjects achieving an exceptional 67% A–A*.

More than two-thirds of our students achieved the highest grades across our broad range of subjects, while the number achieving the grades needed for top university entry has also increased significantly.

Our students have secured places at some of the UK’s leading universities, including Bristol, King’s College London, UCL and Loughborough, alongside exciting opportunities in apprenticeships, employment and other pathways.

Our Cambodia World Challengers are all safely back in England but we had to share their last days adventures with you... They explored Siem Reap, visited the iconic ancient temple Ankor Wat and finished with an evening show at the circus! After a long flight home they are definitely ready to hang up the hiking boots and rest. 😊 What an adventure they've had!

The Cambodian adventure is drawing to a close and the team have spent their last few days in the jungle trekking approx 7-8km a day. On the way they have been learning from the locals how they can use different plants from the jungle to cook with and for medicine. After a hot trek, 34°C to 36°C, the boys cooled off in the creek and burnt some extra energy (if they had any!😳) with a friendly game of football. We wish them a safe journey home and can't wait to hear about their experience! Forest 💙💛🫶

🇪🇸 Barcelona Trip – Final Day

With heavy hearts, goodbye's have been said to the hostel that has been home for the last four nights and headed to Les Arenes, Barcelona’s former bullring, now transformed into a modern shopping centre. Contrary to popular belief, bullfighting is neither enjoyed nor supported in many parts of Spain, including Catalonia.

After some last-minute shopping, it was time for a traditional treat of chocolate con churros 😋and the end-of-trip quiz to see how much students had learned from the sights, culture and experiences of the past few days. The results were incredibly impressive and made us very proud. With that, it was time to make their way to El Prat Airport and begin the journey home.

We may have returned with the same suitcases we left with, but they are filled with memories, experiences and friendships that will last a lifetime. ✈️🇪🇸❤️Forest 💙💛

The Year 7s have had a great time today by the sea in Brighton. They've been doing a little Geography fieldwork, grabbing some culture at the Pavillion, checking out the expensive shops and sampling the ice cream! A good day out 😊

🇪🇸 Barcelona & Tarragona – Day 4! Today began with a walk through the heart of Tarragona, taking in some of the city’s incredible Roman ruins before meeting the coach beside the spectacular Roman Amphitheatre. We then headed to PortAventura for an action-packed day, with students braving some of the park’s biggest and most thrilling rides, including Dragon Khan and Shambhala.

After dinner, many students gathered to watch the England match on the big screen, while a smaller group travelled to Barcelona to enjoy the spectacular Magic Fountain show. The combination of music, lights and water was truly unforgettable.

It has been a fantastic day full of history, excitement and memorable experiences. The only disappointment was England’s result, which left many students feeling a little deflated at the end of an otherwise brilliant day! ⚽🇬🇧🇪🇸

Another action-packed dayin Barcelona! We started at the Camp Nou Museum, discovering the history of one of the world’s most famous football clubs. The stadium is closed for refurbishment, but the museum did not disappoint. After lunch at Poble Espanyol architectural museum, we enjoyed incredible panoramic views from the Olympic Mirador. The highlight for many was an afternoon swim at the Olympic Pool, cooling off while looking out across the city. We even managed a quick stop at the Olympic Stadium on the way back to the hotel.

The day finished in style as we watched Spain’s victory together at the hotel, before joining in with the amazing atmosphere of celebrations, chants and car horns ringing out across Barcelona. What a day! 🇪🇸⚽✨

After a safe arrival in Cologne, Y9&10s received a warm greeting from the hotel owner who made sure everyone was settled in and enjoyed their evening meal. Some of them went for a walk by the River Rhine with Mrs Briggs and Mrs Ciccazzo. Others opted to watch the football. They've been grateful for the overnight and morning rain (what is that?) and are feeling refreshed ready to start the day visiting the Marksburg Castle within the Rhine Gorge UNESCO World Heritage site and going on a river cruise. In the evening, we will be watching the semifinals between England and Argentina in a big function room. Come on, England! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
