Another busy week of tutoring! Here are some of the highlights:

🛴Cross-curricular learning based on Rosie Revere, Engineer – designing and building vehicles.
⚙️ Exploring mechanisms and testing the friction of different surfaces.
🐍 Practising common exception words with a snakes and ladders game.
🥚 An Easter egg hunt focusing on year 2 spellings.
💦Designing a water park and creating a persuasive poster to advertise it.
➗ Practising short division.
✏️ Sorting subordinate clauses and main clauses.
🔵 Norse god themed y3 code breaker to practice fractions.
…and plenty more!

There is still space available in the Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 groups, and will soon be 1:1 availability on Wednesdays from April onwards.

HOME EDUCATION🌟

This learner’s sessions this week have been based around the wonderful book, ‘Rosie Revere, Engineer’

In English, the learner explored suffixes and possessive apostrophes, and began designing and labelling their own invention. This will lead on to writing clear, sequenced instructions explaining how to make it.

In maths, the learner helped a character from the story build a plane by solving short division questions to collect the parts needed.

It’s been a busy few months at Zoe’s Study Sessions and I’m looking forward to sharing more in the coming weeks!😊

🎃 This week, learners have been getting into the spooky spirit! 👻

We’ve been brewing spelling potions, imagining adventures into haunted houses to inspire creative writing and using spooky similes to describe Halloween characters! ✍️

In maths, we’ve pieced together pumpkin puzzles with column addition, solved Halloween word problems, and worked on fractions of numbers🕸️

There are still spaces left for both 1:1 and group sessions.

I’m so excited to now offer small, supportive group sessions from my new tutoring room in Windsor. This is a quiet, welcoming space where children can feel comfortable, focused and supported.

⭐️Year 6 SATs Group (Tuesdays 5:10–6:10pm)

Small groups (max of 4) designed to build confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in a relaxed setting.

I’m also continuing to offer 1:1 or group home education sessions tailored to your child’s needs, covering Maths, English, Science, Art, French, History, and Geography.
These sessions are engaging, encouraging, and paced to support each child’s learning style.

I’m so excited to show you my new tutoring space!✨

The office turned tutoring room is finally ready to go! It’s a calm, supportive, and warm environment where pupils can feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn!

Every child who’s been in here so far has absolutely loved it and I can’t wait to welcome even more pupils into this space!

It’s been so lovely creating a space that feels positive, calm and inspiring💛

✨YEAR 6 MATHS CHALLENGE🔑🏆

One of my Year 6 pupils took on a special Maths Challenge where each completed task revealed part of the instructions to unlock a safe. The five challenges tested a range of skills, including place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and rounding.

She worked with great focus and determination, earning each part of the code before finally cracking the safe to reveal her prize!😊

Creative Writing!✨

In this session, we focused on using descriptive language! My little learner worked so hard exploring adjectives, verbs and similes to describe cats, thinking carefully about their appearance and personality.

She then used all her ideas and word bank to write a brilliant “Missing Cat” poster, making sure to include adjectives, similes and full sentences with capital letters and full stops.

I was so impressed with her focus and creativity! 🐱✍️
