Here's a short lesson I created about a year ago for a series I called 'Around the violin in 80 tips'. A number of people found them useful, so I'm posting some of them again, alongside new ones - also with some improvement in production :)

The Insane Mechanic

I'm always keen (sometimes too much so) on getting my students, and anyone ealse who'll listen, to understand that gravity is their best friend. Yes, it's personal!

Gravity is simply amazing; let it do the work for you! It keeps you upright.

Don't be like the insane mechanic who insists on pulling the car upward when it's already being supported on a hydraulic hoist from below.

You'll know when you are not gravity's friend when you experience the sensation of 'skating on thin ice', when you perform....

Nice to play and talk about the AT and violin playing last Friday Feb 3rd 2017 for 'Friends of the Alexander Technique' at their concert in Hamstead's Rosslyn Hill Chapel....

I'm planning more one-day workshops as it's been a while since the last one....

I'm looking at Easter at the moment and perhaps some individual lessons as well. London is the most likely venue.

I'd be happy to give a workshop for a group of violinist friends and teachers. Please get in touch to discuss.
