Jeremia Juma was a welcome visitor to the UK. Jeremia, a teacher of Geography and English at DCT Mvumi Secondary School and a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam is seen here outside Francis Holland School in London with its headmistress, Mrs Lucy Elphinstone, and fellow Mvumi trustee, Roderick Watson
Sponsored by the British Council, Jeremia spent time with Queen Elizabeth’s High School Gainsborough as well as Francis Holland School. He also visited Mvumi School Trust’s Chairman, Mr John Clark and a previous Trust Representative, Mrs Alison Leonard. We would like to thank all who made Jeremia’s visit so memorable .

MVUMI CHRISTMAS MESSAGE
I would like to thank all our Mvumi friends for the many ways you have supported Mvumi Secondary School. In 2019 we will be celebrating the School’s 25th anniversary and the 21st of the Trust, and it is a privilege to hear from alumni as they report on the opportunities the School has provided. We hope to draw this to your attention in 2019.
We are also thrilled by the achievements of our current pupils. You will have read of the performance of Erick who was one of the strongest performing students in the whole of Tanzania despite being blind. Our students continue to show similar determination to overcome handicaps of poverty and disability.
The efforts of the Head, Francis Malugu and our Trust representatives, Jane and David, have helped to make this happen and we very grateful to them and to you for the privilege of working so purposefully in Tanzania.
With all good wishes, for Christmas and the New Year,
John Clark
Chairman

Congratulations to Mvumi student ,Erick Mlasani, for being ranked third in Tanzania for students taking language and humanities subjects.

He achieved a Division I pass with 5 points (the fewer points the better). He is a blind student, who has been a member of the visual impairment unit for the past 6 years. He achieved an A in History and a B in Geography and English. An A grade is between 80 and 100, and a B grade is between 70 and 79.

He has a university place to study Law. While waiting to begin University he volunteered to work in with the Visual Impairment Unit of DCT Mvumi Secondary School.

We wish Erick well in his future career, and look forward to following his progress through University and beyond.
