📚📖Yesterday for World Book Day our children and staff explored their favourite stories from nursery and from home. Children enjoyed dressing up as their favourite book character.

A favourite in the Preschool Building was the Hungry Caterpillar. During story time they explored the different fruits and spoke about what food is a healthy choice and learning the sign language for the different items. We had the the children re tell Handa's Surprise to each other using a range of props.

Our Toddlers went on an adventure and enjoyed re telling their favourite Core Story 'The Pirates are Coming' outside in the garden. Creating their own pirate ship out of our wooden planks. 📚📖

Over the last week at nursery we have been learning about St David's Day using Daffodils to mark make with. Our children have been creating their own versions of Daffodils. We have been learning about Wales and enjoying Welsh Stories.

For Pancake Day on Tuesday we have learning about what ingredients is needed to make our own pancakes. Our Toddlers have been developing their hand eye coordination by mixing, scooping and pouring whilst making their 'Pancakes for the Gruffalo'. James and Kim enjoyed making pancakes for all of the staff and children for their afternoon snack. The children used their favourite fruit to decorate their pancakes. 🥞🥞🥞

Our Preschool children wanted to make their own 'pancakes' by using a range of materials to create their own toppings for their pancakes. The preschool children enjoyed being imaginative.

❤️🌺🔢February round up for our Preschool Children ❤️🌺🔢

they have explored Valentines Day and shared with each other reasons why they like each other. They created their own floral art with flowers and drew their own versions of flowers.

For Number Day we went on a number hunt in the environment, carried out number games and created our own number song. We developed our fine motor skill by 'baking' cupcakes and decorating our cakes with different amounts of pompoms.

During January our preschool children have been busy exploring and caring for their baby dolls. They have been developing their Personal Social and Emotional Development by talking about younger siblings or family members. It was lovely to see how the children in preschool spoke about their younger siblings or family members.

The children have been learning about Chinse New Year where the preschool children spoke about how it is celebrated, created a snake by colouring mixing a range of colours and then danced like snakes. The children carried out yoga poses of different animals.

We have also been celebrating burns night and Australia day by creating a range of different arts and crafts and developing our gross and fine motor skills.

🌟🌟🌟Please join me in welcoming our newest staff member to the team at Little Monkeys. Nikki has worked with a range of aged children over the years and really enjoys messy play with our under twos. Nikki has two Grandchildren of her own, in her spare time Nikki loves go on dog walks and spending time with her family. 🎄🎄Today at nursery the children and staff enjoyed their Christmas Lunch cooked by James and Kim. The children sat with their friends and discussed what was their favourite food at Christmas was. Our Preschool children spoke about healthy food and where root Vegetables come from. Whilst eating their Christmas lunch the children enjoyed listening to some Christmas music. 🎄🎄
