Could tutoring be the reason behind this award…?

My son can home with a very battered looking Headteacher’s Award he’d received in assembly. He seemed quite nonchalant about it to be honest 🤣

He told us he had received the award for ‘doing good Phonics’. We were unbelievably proud to hear this ❤️

Particularly because he is not sure if he likes Phonics and recently he’s been refusing to read his reading book at home and he rarely picks up a pen to write (he finds the mechanics of writing difficult).

What’s changed? Clearly his approach to Phonics has been more positive. But why? Perhaps it’s the fact that he has started tutoring sessions over the past couple of months.

He has 30min sessions once a week (which he loves) so could it be such a short amount of tutoring in such a short space of time that’s made the difference?

Or has tutoring helped him realise he does like Phonics, he CAN do it and therefore his confidence has grown?

Perhaps school have tried something different recently or perhaps now he is 5, he is ready for it.

One thing is for sure, we will continue with his incredible tutor (she’s been with T Stack Tutoring for over a year now) and continue to try supporting him at home without stressing him out.

Our July GCSE Maths and Science Booster Groups with our experienced specialist tutor are designed to help students in Year 10 end the term (and academic year) on a high.

The sessions will build their confidence, strengthen their understanding and prepare for the most important school year ahead.

Our Summer English Language Booster Groups are run by our much-loved and experienced tutor and examiner.

These groups are designed to help students build confidence with AQA English Language Paper 1 in a supportive, small group setting.

Starting Tuesday 28th July at 11am.

✔ Small groups of up to 6 students

✔ Tuesdays at 11:00am during the summer holidays

✔ £50 per hour
