This year marks the 10th EACTS Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) Summit, and we’re excited to bring the whole multidisciplinary MCS community together to celebrate.

📊 For the second year, we’re proud to have taken part in the HDR UK Black Internship Programme.

This summer, we welcomed Grace Kulubya to the EACTS Quality Improvement Programme (QUIP), where she has been exploring how data can help us better understand and improve hospital engagement with our database initiatives.

During her internship, Grace evaluated our current processes and helped build an interactive dashboard to track progress, identify challenges and support more efficient data onboarding. Her work will continue to be used by the EACTS QUIP team as we develop our approach.

Today, we’re celebrating Grace and her fellow interns at the HDR UK Black Internship Programme Closing Ceremony, recognising their work and achievements throughout the programme. 👏 We’re also delighted that Grace’s poster was selected as one of five honourable mentions!

We want to thank HDR UK for letting us join the programme again this year and thank Grace for everything she has brought to our team.

How might you approach things differently?

This November in Rome, experienced congenital and paediatric cardiac surgeons will come together to advance their decision-making in aortic valve disease across all paediatric age groups.

The Surgical Management of Congenital Aortic Valve Disease and Aortopathies Course focuses on active participation. You’ll take part in decision labs, review failure cases, join debates, and watch live-in-a-box videos to help you think, vote, and reflect on your choices.

Across two days, the programme will cover surgical decision-making for conditions ranging from neonatal aortic stenosis to repair, Ross and replacement strategies, aortopathies, ACHD and reoperations.
