The children have enjoyed a very busy sports and health week. We have all taken part in a skipping workshop and a PT session as well as many other sporting activities. We finished today with our sports morning where we tried lots of different events and ran in a running race. Well done everyone for taking part. You should all sleep well tonight!
Not doing anything today?! Why not come and find us on the Field of Remembrance at the Windlesham Village Fete. See you there. โ๏ธโ๏ธ
Bumblebee class have been trying a new activity to help with their reading and writing......and team work! They had to write the sentence that was on their hat but the only way they knew what the sentence said was by listening to their partner read it to them. There was a lot of great discussion about diagraphs, finger spaces and where the full stop goes.
The year 1's have been busy getting creative. They designed their own animal puppets and have spent the last 2 days sewing, cutting and sticking their puppets to make their animal creations come to life. Maybe we will see them on 'The Sewing Bee' in a few years time!
The year 2's have been writing poems in class this week. They read a poem called 'Three Good Things' and then planned and wrote their own version. A group of budding poets in the making!
Bumblebee Class had fun playing an adding game in maths today. They had to roll a dice and add either 1, 2 or 3 bricks to their tower. It was a race to 20. Lots of towers came tumbling down but with lots of counting, encouragement, steady hands, patients and breath holding 3 children built towers of 20 bricks. Sorry Ladybird Class for being so noisy with our celebrations!!
A bit of rain didn't stop Caterpillar Class from having a great time at forest school today. Along with the usual swinging and climbing in and out of the stream, they enjoyed a story which encouraged them to make their own clay pots. Lots of muddy children (and clothes) will be heading home tonight!!
After a week of learning about King Charles III and the coronation we celebrated today with a red, white and blue themed day. We enjoyed some delicious cake and sang some coronation songs.
We are open as usual. Wrap up warm!
The school council have spent time this week visiting each class. They wanted to find out how we wanted to spend the money raised from our chocolate tombola. As a team they decided on four different activities for the playground they could fund new resources for. They then presented these ideas to each class and tallied the votes. We look forward to seeing what the results will be!!
We had a great time this week running Maths Mastery workshops to help support parents understand how number is being taught in school. They tried different number games and activities together, which they will then be completing as home learning tasks over the next few weeks. It was great to see so many parents learning alongside their children!
Happy Pancake Day everyone! ๐ฅ On the first day back after half term Bumblebee class were learning about Shrove Tuesday and made some delicious pancakes. They made the batter, helped to cook them and then had to choose the topping they wanted. The rest of the school didn't miss out as we all had pancakes with our school lunch today. What is your favourite pancake topping?
Bumblebees took a very frosty walk this morning to the local post box to post their letters to 'you know who...'๐ Fingers crossed ๐ค they arrive in time so all their presents can be added to the list!

The school council were proud to meet MP Michael Gove and Councillor Richard Tear during their recent visit. They asked questions and talked about our school.
Remembering Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As we celebrated Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee, the children enjoyed learning about our Queen. They were excited to find out she visited our school in 1949, as Princess Elizabeth.
We know the Queen was an amazing lady. We are thinking of her family and friends at this sad time. We know King Charles III will work very hard as our new King.
The children have been working hard for their first full week back. They have been learning about their class names and busy making some amazing insect themed art ๐จ ๐๐๐๐ชฐ

This week we raised ยฃ140 for World Prematurity Day. The children were able to come to school wearing something purple. The children learnt about what the day means and what the money we raised would help support. ๐๐
