World Book Day 2023, Windlesham style!

Pre-school looking fantastic today in their selection of costumes and also having fun sharing their stories!

Baby room went out to explore everything winter had left behind!
Lots of fallen leaves, soil and sticks 🪵 🍂

After filling their bags with wintery goods, they sat down to create pictures together.

Such a great use of natural resources and a lovely outdoor learning activity!

Learning to write ✍🏻

Today, Pre-School have been enjoying time with our teacher,Rachel.
She has spent time practicing pen grip, mark making and letter recognition with the children.

I think you’ll all agree that they have done a great job at writing their names, and aren’t their self portraits brilliant! 🤩

🦆 Quack Quack!

The ducks are back at the local pond which has made the children very excited!

We expect there might be some little ducklings come spring, we can’t wait to see them arrive.

This was the inspiration behind this wonderful activity for the children today. A recycled box, water and some ducks = hours of fun and chatter!

Introducing our Puffins mascot, Barney! 🐶

Barney occasionally pops into the setting to see the children and most days he gives the children at Windlesham an excited tail wag when they see him on their daily walk!

Fun facts!
Barney is 6 months old, his favourite toys are his Doggo and Carlos the Crocodile (although he loves all 30+ toys he has!)
His favourite hobbies are chewing sticks, making his squeaky toys squeak and stealing socks!
Favourite food - anything! 😋

Getting in the Halloween spirit with this fantastic tuff tray!
If you zoom in, you’ll see our brilliant teacher Jazz, put this tray together using rice and pasta. So clever! 🎃

Our teachers have done it again! 👏🏻

Here is the set up for the baby room tomorrow.

Queen Elizabeth II

As we take time today to stop and remember Her Majesty, we wanted to show everyone the activities Puffins got up to last week in her memory.

There were some interactive tuff trays, flower displays created, stories read and marmalade sandwiches eaten! Some lovely ways to celebrate her life and remember her fondly.

May she rest peacefully now.

Catching up on last week with some wonderful photos from a woodland adventure with the baby room!

They put their gross motor skills to the test as well as their balancing skills as they did some big climbing and jumping!

We are thrilled to annouce that Georgia has completed her level 3 Forest School Leader training!

This course will allow her to enhance children's learning in the outdoor environment, by providing a range of activities in a natural environment for children to participate in.

Georgia has worked extremely hard on this course over the last year alongside completing her BA top up year in Early Years, and we are so proud of her and excited for her to bring her knowledge into Puffins!

We would like to wish our lovely Natalie from baby room and her brand new husband the biggest congratulations on their wedding!

We wish them a life of love and happiness always ❤️

The best of friends 🥰

A look back at this week and a wonderful baby room enjoying the local surroundings!

They put their climbing skills to the test on the play equipment and had so much fun on the swings and slides!

This week Pre-School have been focusing on the numbers 0-5 and the colour blue!
We will be enhancing their learning by getting them to identify the numbers that are there and counting the sea shells 🐚 🤩

⭐️ Class of 2022 ⭐️

Yesterday we celebrated our school leavers with a special trip to Bocketts Farm!
The day was filled with animal interactions, tractor rides, pig races and play time!

The day was wonderful and everyone really enjoyed seeing what the farm had to offer!

We were so impressed and proud of all the children who were just brilliant all day!

Thank you Puffins, it was the perfect end to your time with us!

This morning baby room went searching for green and brown objects in the forest! 🌳
Once they returned to Puffins, they used their findings to make marks in play dough and paint!

We all had a wonderful day yesterday celebrating the Queen’s Jubilee with a little tea party made by our wonderful new cook Karen and lots of activities in the rooms!

We hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

We couldn’t let this day go by without saying a HUGE thank you to all of our incredible teachers here at Puffins.
We are so lucky to have such a dedicated team who turn up everyday with passion that never fades, always wanting to being out the best in the children and encourage them to learn daily.

The babies have been focusing on weather this week with a wonderful sensory tuff tray!

The teachers watered down some paint inside spray bottles and the babies used them to create a rainy day picture ☔️

Following this activity they got stuck into more sensory play with ice and shaving foam!

Pre-School are growing cress!

The children have had lots of fun planting the seeds and checking each morning if they have started to sprout.

They aren’t quite there yet but the back left is making small signs of growth 🤞🏻😉

The children are always included when making the boards and do such a brilliant job at being crafty and creative to decorate them!
