🌿🚣 What an amazing day at Windermere Outdoor Centre last week! 🌞

Last week, our pupils had a fantastic time exploring the great outdoors during their visit to Windermere Outdoor Centre. They enjoyed learning new canoeing skills on the water 🚣, got hands-on with bushcraft activities 🌲🔥, and had lots of fun playing together in the park 🌳😊.

It was wonderful to see everyone demonstrating teamwork 🤝, resilience 💪, and enthusiasm ⭐ throughout the day while making lasting memories with their friends.

What a wonderful way to end a fantastic school year! 🎉💚

A huge thank you to our amazing PFA for generously funding this trip and making such a special experience possible for our pupils. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. 💙👏
Well done to all of our fantastic pupils! 🌟

Look what we got today! 🎉

We are so excited to receive our very own Loose Parts Play Kit! 🤩

This fantastic resource will enhance play opportunities at Breakfast Club, After School Club and during playtimes, encouraging creativity, imagination, problem-solving and teamwork through open-ended play.

A huge thank you to Westmorland and Furness Council for generously funding this amazing resource, and to Ragtag Arts & Community Scrapstore for providing it. We can't wait to see all the wonderful creations and adventures our children come up with!

How exciting! 💙💛

What a lovely Leavers' Mass this morning! 💙

It was a beautiful celebration as we marked this special milestone for our Year 6 pupils. We'll be so sad to see them leave, but we're incredibly proud of each and every one of them.

A huge well done as well to our three new altar servers, who did a fantastic job at this morning's Mass. 🙏

We look forward to celebrating our Year 6s once again at our Leavers' Assembly tomorrow afternoon.
We hope you can join us!

After a few weather-related postponements, we finally managed to hold our Sports Day last week! ☀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

It was a special day for so many of our children – the last Sports Day for our wonderful Year 6 pupils and the very first for our Nursery children. We loved seeing everyone taking part with such enthusiasm, determination and fantastic team spirit.

A huge well done to all of the children, and to the parents who joined in the races – you certainly added to the fun! 👏

A big thank you to our PFA for providing the much-needed ice lollies, which kept everyone cool and refreshed in the sunshine, and to Windermere Rugby Club for kindly allowing us to use their excellent facilities.

It was a fantastic afternoon of fun, friendship and community spirit. At St Cuthbert's, everyone gets a medal because we celebrate participation, perseverance and trying your best. 🏅

Well done, everyone!

Last week, community artist Nicki Smith from the LDHP Echo Capture Youth Engagement Team worked with our KS2 children at St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School, drawing inspiration from the story of the Windermere Children.

The children explored animation skills as part of the exciting new Echo Capture community project, which celebrates the passing down of family stories, songs, rhymes, and traditions through generations.

We really look forward to welcoming the Echo Capture team back later in the year for more creative workshops with our children.

A huge thank you and goodbye to our former pupil, Georgiana, who has spent the week with us on placement from The Lakes School. It has been wonderful to welcome her back to St Cuthbert’s, where she has worked across both classes, supporting our children with enthusiasm, kindness and dedication.

Georgiana, you have been a fantastic role model, and we are so proud of everything you have achieved. Thank you for all your hard work this week.
We wish you every success and happiness in the future. Good luck—we know you will do amazing things!

Our prayer garden is looking beautiful today in the sunshine. 🌞 It is a special place where our children know they can come at any time when they need a moment of peace and quiet.

Every child has written a prayer, which is proudly displayed in the garden, creating a beautiful space for reflection and prayer.

Our Year 6 children have been busy creating a beautiful stained glass window for the pod overlooking the prayer garden. As the sunlight shines through the vibrant colours, it will remind us of them and the wonderful memories they have made during their time at St Cuthbert’s. ❤️

Our Explorers have also been creating posters to encourage us all to recycle and care for God’s wonderful planet. 🌍 Our Laudato Si’ children have made beautiful reflective pebbles, adding another thoughtful feature to our prayer garden.
Meanwhile, our Eco Club has been busy maintaining the garden and preparing for our Cumbria in Bloom entry… which will be revealed soon! 🌸🌿

Thank you to everyone who helps look after our school and our children. Our school motto, “Help one another – this is what we do with all our hearts,” is lived out every day and is a true reflection of our St Cuthbert’s family.
