Yesterday we said a sad but incredibly proud farewell to our wonderful Year 13 students. And what a final day it was!
The daytime was filled with well-deserved awards, moving speeches, and fantastic live music from the students themselves—topped off with a roaring performance of ‘I’m Too Hot For You’!
The celebrations continued into the evening with a sumptuous dinner at the Low Wood Bay Hotel, where everyone danced until they dropped. It was a truly magical day full of joy, friendship, and laughter shared between students, staff, family, and friends.
We are immensely proud of this cohort. Some of these students have been with us since the age of three, working hard and contributing hugely to every single aspect of school life.
Thank you for the memories, Year 13. We wish you every success in the future!

Massive congratulations to the Windermere School Round Square Adventure Team! They have just officially WON the Adventure Race for the very first time!
Competing against tough competition from Abbotsholme, Gordonstoun, and Surrey Hills, our students gave it absolutely everything. A huge well done to Penelope, Jacob, Harry, Emma, George, and Magnus!
The team absolutely smashed the climbing discipline before tackling the ultimate final challenge: a grueling mountain fell race. Your resilience, teamwork, and grit have made the whole school incredibly proud!

Lab coats on, safety goggles secure!
It’s that time of year again! Our brilliant Year 12 Chemistry students just spent an intensive day hands-on in the lab, collecting crucial primary data for their IB Internal Assessments.
From deep dives into chemical kinetics to exploring complex redox reactions, our students are tackling some seriously impressive science this year.
We are so proud of their focus, curiosity, and hard work. Brilliant job, Year 12 chemists!

Huge congratulations to our very own Emmeline!
Last night, Emmeline took the stage at the Northern Shakespeare Playhouse in Prescot for the North West/Wales regional final of the English Speaking Union Shakespeare Competition. Against an incredibly high standard of talent, she wowed the professional judges with a spellbinding performance of the witches from Macbeth.
We are so proud to announce that she was named the regional winner! Emmeline was an absolute credit to Windermere School, showcasing incredible dedication and artistry.
Next stop: The Globe Theatre! Emmeline will be heading to London for the Grand Finale on June 25th. Please join us in wishing her the best of luck as she takes her performance to one of the most iconic stages in the world!

Many congratulations to Eliza who competed recently on behalf of Windermere School at the National schools Equestrian Association Elite competition in The Hickstead Elite 1.10m NSEA Individual Championship qualifier.

Eliza and her horse Kincon Jolly Jumper won the event and have qualified for the final at The ALL ENGLAND JUMPING COURSE HICKSTEAD on Friday 26th June.

They were competing along side other schools from all over the country and some very experienced competitors with multiple horses in the class.

This is the second final for which they have now qualified, having taken the County Championship in 2 classes and have qualified for the County Championship finals also at Hickstead in May.

From Shakespeare to Roald Dahl... what a night!
Our Windermere actors truly brought the house down at last night’s Speech and Drama Showcase. From the ancient tragedies of Euripides and the classics of the Bard to the modern flair of Berkoff and the whimsy of Dahl, the range on display was incredible.
It’s official: our young people are ridiculously talented.
To our performers—take that same energy into your final exams! You’ve already proven you can own the stage, so we know you’re going to absolutely smash it.
