Chem with Ben
Local qualified secondary school Chemistry teacher (PGCE, QTS) with a 1st class degree, currently teaching GCSE students.
I specialise in helping students move from grades 4–6 up to 7–9 through clear explanations and exam-focused strategies.
Some of the topics students most often struggle with are:
- bonding and structure
- moles and calculations
- electrolysis
- rates of reaction
- required practicals
- applying knowledge to unfamiliar questions
A big part of strong revision is knowing exactly where the gaps are.
I’m currently offering a limited number of free GCSE Chemistry diagnostic assessments for Year 10 and 11 students.
Why do a diagnostic first?
A diagnostic assessment helps show:
- what a student already understands
- where the main gaps are
- which topics need the most attention
- what to prioritise before exams
This makes revision much more focused and effective.
