We were delighted to welcome Councillor Sudhakar Achwal, Mayor of Wi******er, for the first time last week, as part of a special Religious Education Curriculum Day.
Councillor Achwal, who was elected as the 826th Mayor of Wi******er at the annual Mayor Making ceremony on 14 May 2025, spent time with pupils sharing his personal experiences of faith, public service and community life. The visit gave children a valuable opportunity to meet the Mayor in full mayoral dress and to learn first-hand about the Hindu faith through discussion, artefacts and lived experience. He explained to the pupils that his ceremonial chain, The Chain of Office, is worn during official civic duties and it symbolises the history, authority and community leadership of the City of Wi******er, something he is very proud to wear.
What a pleasure to have both Councillor S Achwal and Councillor V Achwal at St Faith's last week.
