Our Eco team had a wonderful morning at Hill head beach searching for crabs, various shells and seaweed. They learnt lots about the coastline and were impressed at how clean the beach was. They paddled in the water and also made some wonderful beach art with their discoveries.

Mrs Groves’ art club were given the task to create some artwork to brighten up the teachers’ work room. This is what they came up with; we think their own interpretation of Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night is excellent!

It was all about flags in Early Years today! Comparing them, making them and waving them. We’re World Cup ready! 🏴 🇳🇴

With a range of adaptations, an amazing staff team were able to take the Y2 children (on an air conditioned coach) to the seaside so they could be immersed in an experience that is vital to their learning. They had lots of shade, were well prepared with water and hats and had plenty of rest breaks. Lovely breeze and a little cloud cover. Thank you to parents for your support; the experience will be invaluable to your child’s learning.

The Early Years children had a fantastic time turning their snack-time tomatoes into delicious homemade tomato soup. They practised their claw and bridge cutting skills to safely slice carrots, onions, and tomatoes, and loved watching the ingredients blend together after cooking. So many children enjoyed an afternoon snack of warm soup and bread — a wonderful mix of learning, teamwork, and tasty rewards.

A group of our year 5 & 6 children represented the school at the annual Wi******er schools Swimming Gala yesterday. They gave 100% and really worked together, discussing race order and supporting each other. 🏊🏻
Although the boys didn't manage to get through to the finals, they came 5th overall in the invitational race, out of 16 schools.
The girls team went through to both the freestyle finals and the mixed stroke finals. In both finals races, they achieved 5th place, out of 24 schools. What a fantastic achievement!
Well done to Rosie, Ruby, Ruthie, Alice, Milo, Kit, Ben and Amos. We're very proud of you all!
