☀️ The sunshine has brought so much fun to our preschool garden this week. The children have been soaking up every moment outdoors — racing across the area, climbing, balancing, and throwing themselves wholeheartedly into physical play. They have worked together to build dens, create secret hideouts, and use construction materials to bring their imaginative ideas to life.

Outdoor play gives them the space to move their bodies, test their abilities, and grow in confidence. It encourages teamwork, problem‑solving, creativity, and a real sense of wellbeing. The garden becomes more than just a space — it becomes a place where friendships deepen, imaginations flourish, and learning happens naturally.

Our preschoolers had a fantastic week in the front garden, fully engaged in the mud kitchen. 😍

Through mixing, pouring and creating, they were exploring so many EYFS learning opportunities — from communication and language to physical development and imaginative play. Such rich learning in the messiest, happiest way.

What a brilliant start to our summer term! The children have returned to preschool full of enthusiasm, curiosity and big smiles.

We’ve already been out to our allotment, getting the beds ready for our summer planting. This hands‑on experience has sparked so much conversation and teamwork. The children have been developing their Communication & Language skills as they share ideas, their Physical Development as they dig, rake and carry tools, and their Understanding of the World as they explore how plants grow and what they need to survive.

Thinking of all the parents receiving primary school places today. We know how much love and hope goes into this moment.

Whether you got the school you wished for or not, my hope is that your child ends up exactly where they will thrive — somewhere they feel safe, happy, supported, and inspired.

Remember: it’s not the school name that shapes them most, but the love and encouragement they receive at home.

Wishing you all calm hearts and proud moments ahead. 😊

Easter songs and egg hunt

We had lots of happy faces. Only a few sneaky eggs left hiding in the garden for our absent children to find when we return after Easter. Feeling grateful for such a lovely afternoon.😍

Preschool is now closed for the Easter holiday and we return on Monday 13th April

A joyful week of construction play has filled our preschool with imagination, teamwork, and plenty of busy little builders! 🧱✨

Our children have been deeply engaged in building towers, roads, bridges, and whole imaginary worlds using blocks and loose parts.

Construction activities may look like simple fun, but they nurture a wide range of early skills:

• Problem-solving and critical thinking
Children experiment with balance, height, and structure, learning what works and what doesn’t.

• Fine and gross motor development
Lifting, stacking, connecting, and manipulating materials strengthens muscles and coordination.

• Early maths concepts
They explore size, shape, counting, symmetry, and spatial awareness without even realising it.
• Language and communication

Working together encourages children to share ideas, negotiate roles, and use rich vocabulary.
Teamwork teaches patience, turn-taking, resilience, and pride in shared achievements.
