NISDA aims to promote affordable, top class theatre inset for Drama teachers, technicians or anybody who wants to learn from industry professionals

NISDA isn't just a conference. It's a godsend. It's a family. But it's not, I repeat NOT, a cult. Just because people come back year after year doesn't mean there's anything dodgy going on here. Just because it's been the leading drama teachers' conference for so long that people have met there and got married through it, is neither here nor there. Admittedly some people occasionally wear odd clothing and dance aorund a bit, but that doesn't make IT A CULT ok?

We are excited to have joining us for They will also be providing our Friday evening entertainment.

Platform Theatre is Box House's brand-new theatre style that restricts actors to the confined space of a gym mat. This particular style is incredibly unique as the actors do not have any assistance from props, set, costumes, and sound. By doing this, it means the actors only have their physical selves and voice to tell a story.

Platform theatre is the art of showcasing choreography, attention to detail, and interesting characters using minimalistic performance techniques. When successfully devised, your students will be able to transport the audience to far away lands within seconds.

This style also allows your students to freely explore the use of multi-rolling, caricatures, mime, and choreographed movement with ease.

How splendid that will be joining us for .

Splendid are a theatre company and an education company. They create challenging, entertaining, politically engaged theatre for young audiences, and provide expert training in all areas of drama practice and theory.

They believe theatre is an empowering and enabling force that is available to everyone: all you need is a story, a body and a space to be heard.

Splendid are creative adaptors, who take old stories and spin them into new thought prodding, theatrical, inclusive, political, anti-4th wall, heart-exposing versions. As storytellers, they are interested in the universal human experience and specifically what will engage and provoke a young audience. They also want to give a voice to those characters that have been neglected, stereotyped or written out of the original version.
