"Between cafΓ© study dates, walks through the city, and spontaneous dessert trips after lectures, Wi******er slowly started to feel like home." π
Starting university is a big change, especially when it means moving somewhere new. But Marketing student Martina says itβs often the everyday moments that make the transition feel easier.
β Finding a favourite cafΓ© to study in
π Library study sessions with friends
π₯ Joining societies and meeting new people
π³ Exploring the city and surrounding countryside
π Easy trips to nearby cities
Little by little, these routines and experiences start to make a new place feel like a home away from home!

πβοΈ What sets studying Event Management at the University of Wi******er apart? Real-world experience from day one.
Our students recently took part in the Universityβs first-ever mock licensing hearing, working alongside professionals from Wi******er City Council to understand the legal, safety and planning responsibilities involved in delivering public events.
By presenting and defending their event proposals in a realistic setting, students developed the confidence and practical skills that employers value, while gaining insight into an important part of the events industry that is often overlooked.
Experiences like this give students the opportunity to apply what they learn in the classroom to realistic scenarios, helping them build a broader understanding of the events sector before they graduate.

π§βπΌ We were delighted to host a Midwifery Conference on International Midwifery Day this year!
More than 150 healthcare professionals and students came along to the event and took part in practical workshops as well as various talks, designed for midwives, student midwives, and maternity staff, aiming to explore theoretical and practical approaches to birth.
This was the first of its kind to be organised by Wessex Consultant Midwives, run in partnership with the University π€
