This week at Twyford School! ✨

On Monday, Year 7 set off on their residential trip to Château Beaumont, and we’re delighted to welcome them back today after what we hope has been a fantastic few days of fun and adventure!

♻️ It was lovely to see Pre-Prep celebrating recycling week! We have been blown away by the amount of recycling collected by our pupils and families, what a fantastic effort, thank you! 💚

⛪️ On Thursday Year 2 enjoyed a trip to Wi******er Cathedral, stepping through its great doors into one of the longest medieval naves in Europe.

⚽ Kicking off this week's sports fixtures, a huge congratulations again to our Colts A team, who have been crowned ISFA Regional Winners! Our U9 boys once again took to the pitch against Prince’s Mead School on Thursday with some brilliant wins, well done to you all 👏

Meanwhile, our U10 and U8 girls' netball teams had matches against St Swithun’s School. Outstanding teamwork and fantastic results!

This week in boarding Orchard Close have been busy baking cookies and playing with Polly Pockets outside. They have plenty of activities to look forward to over the next couple of weeks, including silent disco’s and the fortnightly Twyford house golf!

We hope you enjoy the first Exeat of the term!

✨ Happy ! ✨

🌳 Today our Early Years in Pre-Prep celebrated with the theme of Wonder and the 5 Senses.

🐻 Reception received a letter from the Three Bears inviting them on a 5 Senses Treasure Hunt in the woods. Their adventure ended with a poem they wrote together about everything they had seen, heard, smelt, touched and tasted along the way.

Year 1 discovered all sorts of curious objects hidden in our forest, from shoes hanging mysteriously in the trees to a broomstick caught in the bushes! 👟🧹 Rather than giving answers, we simply encouraged them to wonder. Who left it there? Where had it been?

Sometimes the most powerful learning begins not with an answer, but with the confidence and curiosity to ask, "I wonder why?" 💭

✨An inspiring start to the morning at Twyford School!

This morning we were delighted to welcome Danny Chambers, MP for Wi******er, to our whole-school assembly. He spoke to the children about his careers as both an MP and a vet, sharing his experiences and explaining how the UK voting system works. It was fantastic to see our pupils getting involved and sharing their thoughts!

We are very grateful to him for taking the time to visit us.

# TwyWeekly

This week at Twyford ☀️

♻️ In the Pre-Prep, the children had a fantastic time kicking off Recycle Week early with a fun recycling workshop in Mulberry Pavilion. 🌿 Year 2 took their learning into the fresh air today with a trip to St Catherine’s Hill in Wi******er

🛠 Over in the Creative Centre, Year 4 were working hard during their DTE lesson, showing off some brilliant creativity

👏 It has also been assessment week for Years 3-8. We are immensely proud of the focus and hard work every pupil has put in. Well done to you all!

🏆 There was plenty to celebrate on the sports field this week! A huge congratulations to our girls' football team on a fantastic win in their first match against Ditcham Park. At the U11 IAPS 7-a-side Football Tournament on Tuesday, our Colts A team qualified for the IAPS National Finals. Well done to the whole team! ⚽🏒 Wednesday was a day of closely contested (and hugely enjoyable!) fixtures against Farleigh School across all our boys' football teams and our U11 girls' hockey team.

💛 It’s also National Teaching Assistant Day! A huge thank you to all our amazing teaching assistants across the Pre-Prep and Prep. Twyford would not be the same without you.

🎉 Our boarders have exciting weekly activities lined up at Orchard Close this term, including golf, house futsal, t-shirt making, and silent discos!

🐾 To round off a fantastic week, we had a great turnout for this term's Walk and Talk this morning! Twenty parents, and plenty of dogs, met at Holden Farm in Cheriton, at the kind invitation of the Vincent family, for a lovely long walk followed by coffee in the farm café . Thank you to everyone who joined us!

☀️Meanwhile, back at school, we welcomed 20 families to our Open Morning. The sun was shining as our wonderful Year 8 tour guides showed them what life across our Prep and Pre-Prep is all about.
