We have had a fabulous day celebrating VE Day at Compton…..The children shared pictures and stories of relatives who were involved in the war which was so interesting and a great talking point with some very inquisitive questions being asked. We were also lucky enough to have a visit from Danny Chambers MP who joined the children for their special celebratory fish and chip lunch on the playground!

The JRSO (Junior Road Safety Officer’s) held a green day today to promote the green cross code. The children could wear anything to do with road safety or anything green. There were some fabulous outfits!

As part of Safer Internet week, we will be sharing something different each day of how we can help keep our children safe online. Today we are focussing on Roblox.
Roblox have recently been forced to improve their internet safety controls. They have published guides on creating a parent account where you can manage your child’s Roblox account, and a parental controls overview. Both can be viewed here.

Hedgehogs have been handling artefacts to find out about homes in the past. The children noticed similarities between some of the items from the past and today but also differences. The children thought about our school value ‘respect’ when handling the artefacts as they were so careful.

Foxes had a fantastic day yesterday at the 878 experience and the Wi******er museum, travelling back in time. This was a great experience to consolidate their learning of the Saxons this half term.

We had a very special visitor on Friday… Father Christmas and his wonderful elf helper came to visit the children at Compton during our fabulous Christmas fayre. A very big thank you to Compton School Association for such a wonderful festive event!

Owls class looked fantastic yesterday dressed up in their various World War 2 outfits! They had a fun afternoon experimenting with photography comparing portraits from the 1940’s to modern day photography.
