The Modern History Research Centre at the University of Wi******er in partnership with Wi******er Discovery Centre are happy to welcome you to the ‘People on the Move: A History of Modern Migration’ exhibition, which is on display at the Discovery Centre's Wall Space from the 1st to the 31st March 2018. This exhibition highlights current investigations taken by early-career researchers from different universities around the country. The panels explore historical perspectives, experiences and events linked to migration and communities in modern history across different countries.

We are excited to announce the first paper in our new 2017-18 seminar series 'People on the Move'. At 6pm on Monday 9th October (Medecroft 16) Dr Pippa Virdee (De Montfort University) will be speaking on ‘1947-2017: Reflecting on the Partition of India/Pakistan’. All welcome.
We are delighted to announce a special guest speaker for our Centre. Dr Markus Wien (AUBG) will be presenting his paper: “Nation Building through the Stomach”: The Introduction of a Standardized National Cuisine in Bulgaria under Communism. 12.00 pm, Wednesday 27 September, in Medecroft 16.
