So many things to use for painting and today we used some cotton buds. They are perfect to help build hand strength, finger dexterity and precise hand/eye coordination needed for writing skills. Whether its a freehand drawing of Dotty the cat or using a stencil for a pumpkin face, the children enjoyed mixing colours to create their own masterpieces!

We have been talking about jobs that people do this week including hairdressers, dentists, bakers and police officers while also using a variety of props and dressing up clothes to enhance the children's learning. Today we had a quick visit to the doctors with the children testing out the seats in the waiting room, talking to the lovely receptionist and seeing the nurse and her patients. Thank you for having us x

A trip to the park this afternoon to enjoy the sunshine. Lots of fun climbing, sliding, spinning and gliding to be had by all the children. We even stopped to find some conkers on the walk back! Perfect for our Autumn topic 😃

What colour is your toothbrush? How long do we need to brush our teeth for? Which food/drink are good for our teeth and which are not? These were some of the things we talked about with the children today. Using a variety of resources we put some sugary plaque (blu-tak) on the teeth and asked the children to brush it off. Talking about oral health in early years helps the children build healthy dental habits that will reduce tooth decay in the future.

Welcome back to the new term. The children are enjoying using an extendable pointing finger to choose a song from our song board. Songs are really important in early years as they support development in language and literacy, cognitive development, social and emotional skills and physical development. How many of these songs do you know? 🤔🎵🎶
