Over the last 6 weeks I’ve not been as present as I’d like to be, I’ve in the process of going through a major life change (major to me anyway) and it’s had me reflecting….
This photo was taken 9 years and 11 months ago, I was miserable, I was in a job that had me at breaking point and this was the day that I was finally leaving and coming back to Scotland. I didn’t have a job to go to and I was moving into one of my dads flats as my house was rented out. Life was at a major crossroad
Today I find myself at another crossroads, I’ve been made redundant and I’m not sure what the future holds but even when I find myself at these points in life there’s on thing that’s consistent. I bake! I bake when I’m happy, I bake when I’m sad, I bake when we’re celebrating and I bake when everything is overwhelming me. It’s how I stop myself from overthinking, I guess you could call it my coping mechanism.
I’m not sure why, I’m sure an expert could explain it all, but I guess I revert back to when everything was simpler, my Nana was a major influence on my life and she was the one who taught me to bake and all I remember from that time are the happy memories and the time spend in her kitchen.
But it got me thinking, when you hit a crossroad in life what’s your coping mechanism?
