Yamen has been busy developing his driving skills during his placement at Iford Golf Centre, with the fantastic support of his SWRAC Job Coaches 👏

Our Supported Internship Programme is all about helping young people build real-world skills, confidence and independence in the workplace, while having the right support around them to succeed.

Our Job Coaches work closely with each student, providing individualised support based on their needs and gradually helping them become more confident and independent in their role. They also work alongside employers, offering guidance and support to help create a positive and successful placement for everyone.

A huge thank you to the team at Iford Golf Centre for supporting Yamen and providing such a valuable opportunity, and to our fantastic Job Coaches for the ongoing encouragement and support they provide to both Yamen and his employer 🥰

This is what Supported Internships are all about, creating opportunities, building confidence and supporting young people to take their next steps towards employment.

We’re excited to introduce the newest member of our Boscombe SWRAC team, Andy, who has joined us as our Minibus Driver & General Assistant 🚌

Andy will be helping some of our students get to and from the centre safely, providing a friendly and familiar face at the start and end of their day.

Our minibus will also give our students even more opportunities to get out and about, explore the local area and enjoy planned trips and activities together 🌳

We’re so pleased to have Andy as part of the Boscombe team and can’t wait to see the adventures ahead!

Today is World Mental Health Day 💚

Mental health is something we all have, and looking after it matters just as much as looking after our physical health.

At SWRAC, we want every student to feel heard, supported and able to be themselves. Whether that means talking to someone, taking a break, asking for help, or simply knowing that you’re not alone, there is always a reason to start the conversation.

Let’s keep creating spaces where people feel safe to speak openly, without judgement 🌿

🌿 Making the most of the sunshine as summer disappears!

Our Winton Thrive students enjoyed a fantastic bushcraft and camping-themed day, getting stuck into everything from putting up tents and building hammocks to learning fire-making and survival skills 🔥🌳

Alongside having plenty of fun, these activities help our students to develop independence, teamwork, problem-solving and confidence, all valuable skills they can carry into everyday life 💚

🛒 Our brand-new Supported Internship Programme at RNAS Yeovilton is off to a fantastic start!

Since launching in September, our interns have been getting stuck into their workplace placements, including helping to restock shelves in the retail section 👏

They’re building valuable workplace skills, confidence and independence through real hands-on experience, with our Job Coaches there to provide support and encouragement every step of the way.

A huge thank you to RNAS Yeovilton for welcoming our interns and supporting this exciting new programme. We can’t wait to see what they achieve! 🌟

We thought we’d ask our Boscombe SWRAC team a few questions...

From describing SWRAC in 3 words to hidden talents 👀

Some answers were exactly what we expected… the last one maybe not so much 😂

Make sure you watch until the end, you won’t want to miss the final answer! 😆

💚 Could you be the next member of our Bournemouth team?

At SWRAC, we believe education is about so much more than what happens in the classroom.

It’s about getting to know the person behind the needs, celebrating the small wins, building confidence and helping young people recognise what they can achieve.

We’re looking for someone who shares that approach to join us as SENCO at our Bournemouth Centre.

If you’re passionate about creating a supportive, person-centred environment where young people with SEND can thrive, we’d love to hear from you.

👀 Think this could be you? Take a look at the full vacancy details below and get in touch with our team or apply via the Indeed link below:

After all their hard work planning and hosting their Thrive Festival, our Winton Thrive students were delighted to present the money they raised to Sophie from Lewis-Manning Hospice Care 🥰

The festival was a huge team effort, and our students put so much time, creativity and enthusiasm into making the day such a success.

It was lovely to see them hand over the cheque and know that all of their hard work will now help support the incredible work Lewis-Manning Hospice Care does for people and families in our local community 💚

A huge WELL DONE to our amazing Thrive students, you should be so proud of yourselves!

And thank you once again to everyone who supported the festival, donated prizes, joined us on the day or helped make it possible. Your generosity helped our students turn their ideas into something that could make a real difference 🌿
