We are closing at 12.00 on Thursday 25th June due to the high temperatures! Stacey tells me that even with the air conditioning & all of the usual water misting and water activities, yesterday afternoon was exceptionally hot.

We understand that temperatures today (Wednesday 24th June) could be even higher than anticipated, possibly reaching 35 degrees with a feels like temperature higher than this due to humidity. We appreciate that working families are very reliant on us for their childcare but ask that if anyone doesn't NEED their child to attend nursery today that they might consider keeping them at home, and parents who will be bringing their child in for their normal sessions might be able to pick up earlier than normal so that we can allow some of the staff team to go home. Please can you let staff know at drop off what time you will be able to collect your child today, Less small bodies in the classroom means less heat given off!

Children in our age group are particularly susceptible to the affects of heat, and the physical nature of their roles makes caring for the children much harder for our staff in these high temperatures. We have therefore taken the difficult decision to shut early tomorrow Thursday 25th June, when we will be closing the nursery at 12.00 avoiding the very hottest time of day. Please refer to our Adverse Weather Policy that you were given when you registered your child with us, and is also available to read in the nursery policies section on our website.

We understand that temperatures are expected to be lower on Friday so will plan to open for our normal operational times.

We apologise for any inconvenience but hope parents will appreciate that safety and well-being of children and staff is paramount.
