Re:- New Avatar film ! WARNING
This film is basically a war movie. Where the whole world including Mother Earth come together to fight one aggressor.
Whilst beautifully rendered and chillingly real don’t be fooled by the cutie avatars and their colourful dragons. This is a war movie through and through. If all the characters were wearing combat clothes this movie would be about World War 111
Whilst I was watching it last night there were two children present. I would imagine maybe age 5 and 7 and whilst that may be fully Legal and a parent’s decision I would not suggest even for a minute that this film is suitable for any children. How do you know whats included in a movie until it’s happened. There’s scalping, slicing, shooting, murder a birth and there’s drug-taking there’s bullying there is also friendship but the devastation and violent far out weighs anything else.
I know I’m a softy, but this film shows the horrors or war and human greed in a full and horrifying way. Whilst the first two films had a beautiful element of peace and love and forgiveness and friendship, there wasn’t much of this in this film. I did not shed a tear in the whole of the movie, which I have done in the others. I came out wishing I hadn’t just spent 3.5 hours watching people kill each other.
Lecture over. As you were. 🫡

Just picking up a pencil to practice writing can be quite boring so be inventive and introduced tasks that a pit have nothing to do with writing. Picking up spaghetti or lentils or peas, et cetera with tweezers and placing them in a small area is quite difficult but once I get the hang of it, it can be fun. years # Wimborne early years home tutor

So much of education — and parenting too — is built on the assumption that children must bend themselves to fit our methods, our timelines, our systems. But growth has never worked that way.

Every child comes into the world with their own rhythm, their own lens, their own way of making sense of things. When we insist that they adapt only to our way, we risk teaching them not just a subject — but the lie that who they are is somehow insufficient.

But when we stop demanding conformity and start honoring individuality, something shifts. We begin to see that learning isn’t about a child squeezing themselves into our mold — it’s about us expanding enough to meet them where they are.

That doesn’t mean lowering expectations. It means shifting perspective — realising that there are many paths to understanding, many ways to master a skill, many doorways into knowledge.

Our job is not to stand guard at a single door, but to notice which one is already open to them.
Because the real measure of teaching isn’t how closely a child mirrors our methods. It’s whether they walk away knowing they are capable, worthy, and deeply understood.

When we teach in ways that honour how they learn, we aren’t just unlocking knowledge. We’re showing them that they belong in the world exactly as they are.

And that lesson — more than anything in a textbook — is what stays with them for life. ❤️

This is where it all started. I had the opportunity to attend https://chilternntc.com/ where I was taught by the very best to the highest standards. Since then I have kept myself knowledgeable of current standards by taking courses, gathering practice, knowledge and experience. I chose Nursery Nursing then and I still love working with children now. I believe that children deserve 100% from me, as each experience is a new and founding one. I strive to do my best for each one.

What’s in a picture? Sometimes our children’s drawings look scary but …..

sitting with them and casually chatting while they draw can reveal the truth.
So this crazy goblin is actually a “child spy agent”. He has huge bat ears so that he can hear for miles. He has x ray sun glasses on to aid his sight but used as part of his disguise. He is is chatting on his chocolate bar secret code phone. He is part of a cartoon story written by one of my reluctant writers.
He is very dark because my students struggles to regulate his pencil grip is. There is nothing sinister or scary about this picture. Enjoy your child’s art there usually a a wonderful imaginative thought process behind it.

Reluctant readers will benefit from finger exercise. Muscles control fingers and need to be kept active and flexible to perform well. Regular muscle movement will help to improve strength and dexterity which some children struggle with. Creating with play dough and using pegs, tweezers and tongs, et cetera can help - and who doesn’t want to make a hedgehog out of pegs? ! 🦔🤣
