A new year and my Tuesday pupil is now ready to access the support he needs from school and continue his educational journey without my additional input 🥰
It's always sad to say goodbye as you build such a lovely relationship after years of supporting a child.

However, this does mean I now have a slot after school on a Tuesday available.

First full week back and I've been back to work with my tutees!
On Tuesday we were working on extending sentences and recapping common exception words.
On Thursday we were looking at new spellings and grammar for year 3.
Then to finish off the week I had a lovely chat with a new tutee to find out what we need to be looking at this year to help support with the SATs in year 6.
Looking forward to another successful year with this lovely bunch 🤩

Welcome to LC Tutoring! I've been teaching for 17 years across Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and 2, and have a wealth of experience teaching children aged 4-11. During my teaching career I've planned and taught interventions for children who have needed support to achieve their full potential in reading, writing and maths. At various points, I've had the pleasure of working with children 1:1 and can honestly say this is one of the most rewarding parts to the job. I love to see children's confidence and knowledge grow from learning tailored specifically for them.

I currently have an hour session available on Fridays from 4:30, please contact me if you're interested.

Not some of our most recent work but what it does show is the progress after almost a year to the day. We've focused on saying the sentence, remembering the sentence, handwriting, sentence structure, expanded noun phrases, spelling and phonics. Although the biggest improvement is in her confidence and writing resilience.

A great tutoring session this afternoon, with super focus from my little tutee! We keep it active in between our sitting activities and tasks are kept short and snappy to maintain attention. He loves dinosaurs so he stomps on the sound footprints as we go through them.

Just planning for my tutoring session tomorrow. Look at the progress we're making with letter formation!

We've been using playdough and sand to strengthen hand muscles and make marks before moving to actual letters over the last few weeks.
