At Horizon School a Pupil Referral Unit in Lowestoft, SEMH is not a bolt-on, SEMH support truly sits at the heart of how the whole school works. Horizon School’s ethos is deeply relational. Many pupils have experienced breakdowns in trust, trauma, exclusion or prolonged absence from school.

⭐ Supporting pupils across Key Stage groups
⭐ Delivered 1:1, in small therapeutic groups and whole-class sessions
⭐ Embedded as part of a relational, whole-school approach
It is helping children who face significant barriers to learning to better understand their emotions, build resilience and feel less alone.
What stands out most is the power of the shared experience. "Hamish & Milo gives them a group experience, being with other children who have had similar experiences. Alongside this, the Families Together programme is strengthening relationships with parents and carers, creating a sense of trust, understanding and connection beyond the classroom.🐾
