I hope you have had a lovely break.
A little note to all our student:
Just a gentle reminder classes resume back tomorrow.
If you have enrolled that’s wonderful, if you still need to enrol then you are welcome to pop over to our website or to see the ladies on reception and if your having this term off you are welcome to get back in touch when you wish to resume your jewellery journey.
I’m looking forward to showing off my new ring I’ve been working on over the holidays and also showing you the stones I cut at a lapidary class I attended . (Photos attached)
If you need me to bring anything specific just what’s app me and if you have any special project requirements also let me know so I can be prepared. I have a couple of new projects planned for the summer term including 3 different forged rings, a mixed metal décolletage and a spinner bangle so don’t forget your notebooks to work on your own designs.
Best wishes
Hannah
PS being an optimist that the weather will be glorious🌞please remember no open toe shoes 👡😢in the workshop 🔨💎⛓

💛🖤💛I think it’s rutile quartz, I may be mistaken though.
💛🖤💛She designed it from sterling silver, fine silver and recycled gold.
💛🖤💛The ring was oxidised to darken the silver which really makes the gold pop. Check out the difference……..which colourway is your favourite?

In jewellery classes were alway revisiting our maths to work out the length of things and we use so many methods including mm, cm, carat, gauge, inches, pi, just to name a few.
Georgia has made this stunning bangle which measures accurately so very handy when your out and about and need to measure something. So many skills were involved in making this, starting by using the bangle sizers, piercing, punching, forming, etc.

Age UK Cheshire East Scams Awareness Update Issue 42
In this issue we talk about the concept of money muling. Something that, on the face of it, is something we’d not enter into knowingly. But as the case study shows these are camouflaged as something else entirely the victim only knowing the truth when the police are at the door !
We also detail the current fraud alerts in the area:
Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) impersonation scam
Courier Police impersonation fraud
Air fryer scam emails
Liquidation stock frauds
details can be found on page 4
https://www.ageuk.org.uk/cheshireeast/our-services/scams-awareness/
Please feel free to share the bulletin with anyone you feel might be interested in reading it. Regardless of age or location; members; their friends, neighbours, colleagues, and wider family members; can all benefit from being scam aware.
