🌸 Sketching the Architecture of Flowers
TOMORROW 10AM
Walk in's welcome
Ever looked closely at how a flower is built? Beyond the colors, there is a brilliant, species-specific 3D design waiting to be discovered. Join us for a hands-on workshop where we’ll go beyond "just drawing" and start building flowers on paper!
✨ What You’ll Learn
Led by the wonderful Sabine, you’ll master the "Simplify, Sub-divide, Correct" method. It’s a foolproof way to:
Deconstruct complex blooms into simple shapes.
Capture the structural "architecture" of any plant.
Add Depth using professional hatching techniques to make your sketches pop.
We will work from live observation and even learn how to construct a flower from memory!
📅 When & Where
Date: Thursday, 23rd May
Time: 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Location: The Guild

🌿☀️ Join us Wilmslow
Handmade photography refers to photographic processes used prior to the invention of analogue film. These often forgotten processes allow us to print physical objects using natural sunlight.
Anna Atkins, the first woman to publish a photographic book, used cyanotype chemicals (now most commonly recognised as architectural blue prints) to print and catalogue seaweed species found around the coast of the UK.
Inspired by her work, students will create beautiful blue nature prints by foraging for plants at Lindow Common and print them with cyanotype chemicals and the sun.
Students will also experiment with how to make eco-friendly photographic developers from the plants themselves, and take photo-sensitive paper home to create “anthotypes” with the skills they have developed in session. Anthotypes, although lacking the longevity of cyanotypes, propose a more eco-friendly route forward in experimental photography.

🌱 See Wilmslow in a Whole New Light (literally!)
Join us at the Guild for a mindful, hands-on workshop in Nature-Inspired Handmade Photography.
We are going back to basics, moving away from screens and reconnecting with our local environment.
What to expect from your day 🥾:
1️⃣ Foraging the Common: We’ll start with a walk on Lindow Common, gathering botanical inspiration and materials directly from the landscape.
2️⃣ Slow-Paced Artistry: Discover the magic of Alternative Processes, including Cyanotypes and sustainable Anthotypes (using sunlight and plant solutions!).
3️⃣ Mindful Creation: A tactile, slow-paced day dedicated to mindful experimentation and connecting with like-minded locals.
No photography experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and your boots! It’s sustainable, eco-friendly, and a wonderful way to embrace the seasons.☀️
📅 When: Saturday, 25th April | 10am - 4pm
📍 Where: , Wilmslow
🎨 Tutor: Laura Harvey

Community is at the heart of everything we do, especially at Christmas. 🎄✨
Today, we had the absolute pleasure of visiting to collect a bounty of beautiful, fresh vegetables for our upcoming Christmas Day Lunch. 🥕🥦
This year, the Guild is opening its doors to host a traditional lunch for those in our community who would otherwise be spending the day alone. We believe that no one should be without good company—or good food—on Christmas Day.
A massive thank you to the team at Rootstock for their incredible generosity. By providing us with 100% organic and sustainably grown produce, they are helping us ensure that our guests enjoy a meal that isn't just delicious, but also kind to the planet and nourishing for the soul. 🌍💚
When we support local business, we grow together.

We are looking to repurpose up to seven of our children’s centres to further enhance our family hub outreach offer – and would like your views on the proposals.
The buildings would be used for education, including extending childcare for children aged two and above, extending wraparound provision for primary-aged pupils and delivery additional educational needs and disabilities provision within local communities.
📌Find out more and have your say before the consultation closes on Friday 13 September.
