Happy New Year to all of our lovely families and staff. We wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year!

Our reverse advent calendar from our Wednesbury setting being delivered to Morrisons Wednesbury to be shared with Breaking Bread food bank. Thank you so much to our lovely Wednesbury parents and staff for donations, and a large donation from our Willenhall staff too! And a special thank you to one of our Managers Lisa for making the drop off for us.

Following several themes activities across both nurseries, we will all be having 2 minutes silence at 11am today. We will sing sleeping bunnies to prompt quiet time from the children.
Today we will honour and remember our fallen soldiers, the animals and everyone else involved in the wars fought that have shaped our freedom today.

Throughout all of the rooms at both our Willenhall and Wednesbury nurseries we have celebrated the life of our late Queen of England.
Whilst the children have little understanding of the historic events that are taking place right now, they have enjoyed the Royal theme and pretending to be royalty along with themed activities. As part of out British values we explore the monarchy and the passing of the Queen will be a topic for many years to come.

Tip Top and it's staff and parents would like to extend condolences to the Royal family in their time of grief.

Good morning all,
We are having issues with the power at Willenhall at the moment, we have an electrician on the phone arranging a fix but the nursery phone line is out and Famly will be updated via mobile Internet but will take us a lot longer than normal so please bare with. If we need to call parents for an emergency we will call via staff phones on a withheld number. We will try and get things up and running ASAP Jo has Internet access in the office and will be checking famly regularly so please message on there if you need to talk to staff.

We have an exciting parent first aid course booked for our Wednesbury setting. We are in the process of scheduling one for our Willenhall setting. The course is 2 hours long and is only £25 per person. It is a great opportunity to learn valuable life saving skills to give you and your family confidence when caring for your children. If you would like to attend please contact Aneeka for the Wednesbury setting and Charliey for the Willenhall setting. We will confirm a date for Willenhall when we have one.

It's that time of year again, we are saying good bye to another graduating class from Tip Top. We have loved every second of these days, weeks, months, and years with you all and wish you all the best of luck at school in September!
For anyone who wasn't able to make graduation, we have your things at nursery ready and waiting for you as we don't want you to miss out, please pop in to collect them if you can 💙

Today we also had our fun day to raise money for a worthy cause (as outlined in our news letter), I think it's safe to say we all had a blast, and soak the practitioner was the biggest hit of all! We will count up the donations and let you all know how much was raised.

Thank you so much to all that came to the graduation and fun day, it was lovely being able to have everyone together again and having lots of fun!

A sneak peak into Tip Top.
Preschool are busy practicing skills that they can transfer to school, counting, practicing writing skills, becoming confident in exploring independently, and using their imagination to extend the world around them, all whilst building friendships and memories that will last.
Toddlers have been busy exploring their senses, smelling, tasting, touching, looking and listening. Practicing using new words to describe what they are exploring and becoming confident in trying new things.
Babies have been developing their curiosity about the world around them, and learning to strengthen and focus their movements. Exploring many things including stories, sensory trays and even an exciting 'Dear Zoo' activity.
It is an exciting time of year here at Tip Top, with our school leavers getting ready to head on to their next adventure and some of our children moving on to the next room, ready to grow and learn even more!

We are blown away that we have been caring for amazing children and their families for 6 whole years as of today!

We have been celebrating the Queen's Jubilee this week and continuing this celebration next week. Here's a snapshot of some of the fun activities we have took part in including cake decorating, building Buckingham Palace, lots of red, white and blue messy play activities (indoors and outdoors) and afternoon tea parties. Our parents can find lots more photos on our famly app.

We would like to say a HUGE thank you to our amazing staff for all of your hard work and dedication and to our families and their children for their continued support and the kind words from those who spoke to the inspector. We'd also like to say a special thank you to our little ones, it was very strange for them to have seen an inspector in the setting (or anyone else for that matter) but they handled it so well with no tears!

It's a little late, but on Sunday we turned 5!
5 years of families, 5 years of memories, 5 years of amazing staff and students, 5 years of change, but 5 years that we have treasured.
No matter how busy we are we will always try to mark the birthday of the nursery with the help of the children, the children made some lovely decorations for throughout the nursery and had a blast doing it.
We just want to say a massive thank you to our amazing staff (Kate and Lisa included), students, and families and their children for the last 5 years, and here's to another 5 more 😀
We cannot wait to see what the next year brings.

We are full to capacity at our Willenhall setting!Our Preschool room is full well into 2022 already and we have opened our waiting list for Babies and Toddlers from September of this year with very limited spaces available! Preschool made a little banner to say thank you.
We have all had an amazing few weeks with lots of lovely activities throughout the nursery.
Preschool exploring books and nursery rhymes and crafting, learning new skills to help them get ready for school.
Toddlers have been exploring around the world tasting new foods, dancing to music from all around the world.
Babies have been exploring animals and transport vehicles, learning the noises the animals make, practicing their push and pull technique.
Whilst we are now struggling to accommodate new starters at our Willenhall setting, we still have spaces at our Wednesbury setting, which is a short 8 minute drive from our Willenhall setting. Please spread the news to fill Wednesbury the way you have all helped to fill Willenhall.

Happy Holi everyone!
Our children have enjoyed discussing the beginning of spring and exploring colours and making pictures with our friends. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

We have been enjoying wearing brightly coloured, mismatched socks as part of World Down Sydrome Day (Last Sunday 21st March)

All of our Tip Top staff (even our cook) have been lateral flow tested this morning. This is one of the many ways we are keeping your family and ours safe.
Please remember households of children who attend nursery can access these lateral flow tests for asymptomatic routine testing.

As always if our staff or any of our little ones display symptoms we will be asking for a PCR test to identify covid-19.

Testing and advanced cleaning aswell as PPE help us keep your children safe.

As World Down Syndrome Day is on Sunday 21st of March this year at Tip Top we will be rocking our socks on Monday 22nd of March. As an inclusive setting with Down Syndrome Awareness training we understand the importance of awareness and bringing a positive light on Down Syndrome.
So let's "rock our socks!"

We hope you have had a lovely day and been truly spoilt not just in material ways but in love from your child/children.
We also hope you're enjoying your lovely candle jars from your little ones 🕯

And a special little shout out to all of our lovely practitioners, we may not be their mothers but we love them all just the same- Happy Mothers Day to you all too!

As most of you guessed correctly last time we have decided to start the excitement a bit early...

Coming soon to Tip Top Willenhall..... baby chick's!!!🐣🐥
We will have the eggs to incubate and we will get to see the chick's hatch, once the have hatched we will have a short time with them before they are collected and taken to a forever home. We are super excited to learn all about the life cycles and explore the many many benefits of the whole experience. There are so many developmental benefits to this experience as well as promoting well being for both staff and children. More information about the chick's will be on the news letter that will be coming out shortly.

Those who guessed correctly will be drawn within the next few days and your easter treat will be prepared for you. We will announce the winner on Famly when we have drawn.

We will keep you all updated with pictures and videos as the chick's hatch and grow.

Our Wednesbury setting also has a surprise coming soon, we will share the experience of their surprise and our chick's to spread the joy just that bit further.

We are filling up very quickly at Willenhall and have opened our waiting list for September and beyond, so if you are interested in a space please contact us on [email protected] or call on 01902608663, spaces for before September will have to be on a first come first serve basis due to the increase in demand.

We also have our new fantastic setting in Wednesbury only a short way away from our Willenhall setting with availability, it has the same ethos and values and still has that homely feel, but unlike our Willenhall setting it opens at 7 and due to being a newly opened setting has more vacancies available.

Competition time!

For the next few weeks at Tip Top Willenhall we will be preparing for a special treat for the children.. We will also be running a small competition on here and Famly for the grown ups to guess the surprise! You will have a series of clues.... comment your guess below or on the feed on Famly, the correct guesses will go in a prize draw for an Easter treat.
One entry per family per clue.

Let's talk fine motor skills. Fine motor skill is the coordination of small muscles, in movements—usually involving the synchronisation of hands and fingers—with the eyes. Our children enjoy a wide variety of activities week after week to help strengthen and co-ordinate their fine motor skills even in our baby room.
Activities can be simple and easy to do, you could even try them at home. Simple things like pasta and pipe cleaners, play dough and sequins etc, an even easier option which is always popular with our children is a treasure basket: a box or basket with various toys, natural resources such as leaves, conkers, sticks, and simply wrap string around the box leaving smaller openings for your children to practice co-ordinating movements through smaller gaps.
Fine motor skills should be encouraged as part of a well rounded education. Here at Tip Top Day Nursery our passion is ensuring your children learn the most in the way children learn best, through play!

Happy Chinese New Year! 🐉🎆🐂 The year of the Ox.
Our children have enjoyed a home made chicken chow mein ( with a vegetarian option) for lunch 🍜🥢 and our preschool children made their own fortune cookies with cute quotes inside 🥠. Toddlers also made sparkly pasta bracelets to celebrate. 📿

Our babies have been very busy! Making caterpillars by exploring the squishy green paint, developing our caring skills playing with the babies (this is often babies favourite thing to do as it reminds then of their Mommy's, Daddy's and family), exploring our various sensory baskets that are bursting with colours, textures and lots of different sounds.
Our fun isn't just contained to inside, our babies explore the outside environment too, even the smaller less mobile ones of us spend a little time outside getting some all important fresh air, explore the natural world and grow in confidence with exploring independently!
We have a couple of spaces coming up in our baby room with our older babies getting ready to move on to toddler room, why not get in touch and see if we have space for your little one?

It is children's mental health week this week.
We are so proud of our little ones and how they are coping with the world right now.

Snow, snow and more snow ❄
Our children have loved exploring their ever changing outdoor environment today!
Babies, Toddlers and Pre-School have all made tracks, built snowmen and explored the texture of the snow. The depth of the snow has really supported the children's gross motor skills as they take big steps to walk! They have discussed the features that are needed for the snowmans face and so much more, all from snow!
We hope you have all had fun in the snow too!

These amazing little people are living in a third lockdown, they sanitise and wash their hands, they know about the nasty germs making people poorly, but covid doesn't rule us! When you step inside Tip Top the choas of the world stays outside. This week preschool have had a phonics feel-y box, they rescued penguins in a super cool science experiment and so much more. Toddlers have been sliding into the new year 🤣 they have been practicing their independence with our new Russian dolls exploring zips, buttons, press studs etc, fishing on our inset boards and so many other exciting things. Babies have been in their new ball pit and tent, they have been exploring the solar system including painting their own planets! We have so many exciting activities and so many more planned.
We have a super special exciting activity coming soon, we will post weekly hints to see who can guess what the special activity will be!

Announcement!

Following the announcement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson, we at Tip Top would like to confirm that we are remaining open.
We will continue to maintain our high hygiene standards to best protect the children and staff who enter our setting.

We would like to remind parents to ensure that they are wearing a face covering when they drop off and pick up at the door (unless they are exempt by law). We also ask for parents to send their children in with adequate clothing for longer periods of outdoor play to best support our efforts to reduce the Covid-19 risk at nursery.
