Our learners in took part in an engaging enrichment session focused on raising awareness of Diabetes UK, delivered by our fantastic Teaching Assistant, Hayley Page.
The session explored the importance of understanding diabetes, the different types of the condition and the impact it can have on both physical health and emotional well-being. Learners were encouraged to consider healthy lifestyle choices and then put their creativity to work by designing posters promoting healthy eating and well-being.
Hayley shared her personal experience of being diagnosed as prediabetic and spoke openly about the lifestyle changes she has made to improve her health. Learners found her story both inspiring and relatable, helping them understand the importance of making positive choices early.
The session also highlighted community fundraising efforts, including Hayley's participation in the 10K Wellness Walk in Birmingham in July 2023. Alongside her best friend, she completed the challenge in an impressive 1 hour and 50 minutes, raising money and awareness for Diabetes UK.
A fantastic session that combined health education, personal experiences, and creative learning to inspire our learners to make positive choices for the future.

Our fabulous Dereham Team Leader, Deborah Parnell, had a brilliant and productive morning attending the Watton Job Fair at The Queen’s Hall, organised by the Watton & District Chamber of Commerce and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The event provided a fantastic opportunity to engage with jobseekers, discuss career aspirations and showcase the wide range of training, employability and apprenticeship opportunities available through Nova Training.
It was inspiring to meet so many motivated people keen to explore new opportunities and career pathways.
A huge thank you to the organisers for hosting such a successful and well-attended event and well done to Deborah for representing Nova Training with enthusiasm, professionalism and a genuine commitment to supporting learners and jobseekers across the region.

Our fantastic Nova Training team, Bill Rai and Baljinder Kaur, were proud to attend the latest Job Fair hosted by The Bridge at Molineux Stadium, .
The event provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with young people aged 16–19 who are exploring their future career and education options. Throughout the day, Bill and Baljinder spoke with learners about the wide range of training programmes, apprenticeships and progression opportunities available through Nova Training.
It was encouraging to see so many young people engaging in meaningful conversations, asking insightful questions and discovering how apprenticeships can help them develop valuable skills, gain hands-on experience and build successful careers.
Events like these play an important role in helping young people make informed decisions about their future, and we are proud to support learners on their journey towards employment, further training and long-term success.

Our learners had the opportunity to visit their local library this week to attend the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller (GRT) History Month 2026 exhibition, hosted by Walsall Libraries and Archives.
The vibrant roaming exhibition celebrates the rich and diverse heritage of Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities across Walsall, highlighting the stories, achievements and lasting contributions of individuals who have helped shape the borough's history and culture.
Learners explored a fascinating collection of archival photographs, historical records and community-created artwork, gaining valuable insight into local heritage and the lived experiences of GRT communities. The exhibition also featured the story of former Mayor of Walsall Pat Collins, alongside wider perspectives on GRT cultures, identities and traditions.
The visit encouraged learners to reflect on the importance of diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness, while inspiring them to consider their own identity, aspirations and future opportunities. Experiences like these help broaden understanding, challenge perceptions and celebrate the unique histories that make our communities stronger.

To mark Men’s Health Week, our learners in took a proactive and engaging approach to wellbeing by hosting a vibrant Smoothie-Making & Myth-Busting Workshop.
The session was designed to encourage open conversations around both physical and mental health while highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. Learners explored common misconceptions surrounding men’s health, challenging stereotypes and separating popular myths from evidence-based facts.
Alongside creating a range of nutritious and delicious smoothies, participants discussed the impact of nutrition, exercise, mental well-being, and self-care, gaining valuable knowledge to support healthier habits both now and in the future.
By combining practical activities with meaningful discussions, the workshop helped promote awareness, confidence and positive attitudes towards health, reinforcing the message that looking after your wellbeing is something everyone should prioritise.
A fantastic effort from all involved in making Men’s Health Week both informative and enjoyable.

We were pleased to welcome Clare Auty and Michelle Garrad-Knott from Autism Anglia to our centre to deliver a highly supportive and insightful workshop for both diagnosed and self-diagnosed learners.
The session focused on helping learners identify personal triggers, develop effective coping strategies, and understand the support groups and services available to them. It also provided a safe and open space for learners to talk about their experiences, ask questions, and gain a clearer understanding of their individual needs.
Feedback from learners was extremely positive, with many reporting that they felt more confident, reassured and optimistic about the support available and the next steps in their journey.
Sessions like these are vital in helping learners better understand their diagnosis, strengthen their well being and build resilience for the future. We are committed to ensuring all learners feel supported, included and empowered to achieve their potential.
