A@H are excited to share that the survey for Adoption UK's annual Adoption Barometer is now open. It will run from Tuesday, 6th January until Monday 9th February.
Now in its 8th year, the Adoption Barometer report is a significant milestone, capturing the voices of thousands of individuals with lived experience of adoption and driving the policy agenda across the UK's four nations. The survey should only take about 10-15 minutes to complete and your valuable insights will contribute to the Adoption Barometer Update 2026, which will be published next summer.
You can participate in the survey by following this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/AdoptionBarometer2026

Ready for a sneak peek? 👀
Adoption@Heart’s Family Patchwork Quilt is all ready for its first official outing at the Wolverhampton Fringe Festival.
Designed by local Black Country artist, Alex Vann, it’s made up of almost 300 patches from local children and residents and even four of the local Mayors.
We also asked our patchwork artists to describe what ‘family’ and ‘home’ mean to them. Around the border of the quilt, we have ‘stitched’ people’s responses, which are all so unique and heartfelt.
Come to St Peter’s Collegiate Church in Wolverhampton on the 28th, 29th and 30th of November to see it up close.
And please remember to tag us in any social media pictures of you and the quilt, as we’d love to see them!

Latest figures show a worrying drop in adoption interest, leaving nearly 3,000 children still waiting for a place to call home.
Every child deserves love, stability, and belonging.
Could you be the one to offer a ‘welcome home’?

From medieval legends to Mughal hunting coats, patchwork quilts reveal centuries of creativity and cultural history.
Quilting isn’t just about keeping warm; it’s a technique that has shaped clothing, celebrated life events, and preserved stories. From bed covers to padded garments worn under armour, quilts reflect both domestic life and professional artistry across the world.
Patchwork quilts involve sewing fabric pieces into a larger design. While it started in the domestic space, many historic patchwork quilts were made for storytelling and showing people’s daily lives and experiences.
Adoption@Heart’s Family Patchwork quilt tells the story of what ‘family’ and ‘home’ means to different people. With almost 300 patches, we’ve ‘woven’ a tapestry of individuals’ stories and preserved their memories like a digital time capsule.
Come see it for yourself on the 28th, 29th and 30th of November at the Wolverhampton Fringe Festival at St. Peter’s Collegiate Church.
