My name is Daniel Spouge, and I have a deep passion for mathematics. I achieved five grade 9s and five grade 8s at GCSE, A*A*A in Maths, Physics, and Further Maths at A-Level, and went on to complete an MSci in Mathematics and Physics at Durham University. This journey has given me a strong understanding of the subject and the challenges that come with learning it. Although maths came quite natura

lly to me, I know from experience that this isn’t the case for everyone. That’s why I’ve made it my goal to use my knowledge and experience to make maths more accessible for those who are struggling to connect with the subject. Whether a student’s aim is simply to secure the grade needed to move forward, or to one day pursue a mathematics degree, I tailor my teaching to their individual goals; helping them build understanding, confidence, and a genuine interest in the subject. For the past year, I have worked full-time as a GCSE maths tutor within a secondary school, delivering tailored, extra-curricular maths lessons to small groups of 1-4 students. I specialised in working with borderline foundation students (grades 2-4), though I have experience across the full ability range. During this time, I learned how to adapt my teaching to students’ different learning styles and unique ways of thinking, whilst cultivating engagement with the subject to build interest and confidence. I take a results-driven approach, and I am proud to have helped many students go on to achieve their crucial grade 4 and beyond. After developing my skills as a school-based tutor, I’m excited to now offer private maths tutoring—delivering personalised lessons designed to build confidence, boost grades, and maximise exam performance. My rate is £35 per hour; however, I always offer a trial session free of charge so that students and parents can see if my teaching style is the right fit.
