๐Ÿ”Š SOUND ON ๐Ÿ”Š
The babies at Wilburton have enjoyed venturing to the middle building to take part in some Heuristic play.

Heuristic play gives children opportunities to explore, discover, and be creative with natural, open-ended, everyday resources. The role of the adult changes too, becoming more focused on solely observing and only interacting with children at the right moments to extend their thinking and learning.

During these Heuristic play sessions, the babies have transported objects around the room and experimented with spatial awareness. They have also created some wonderful sounds using both the objects and their own voices!

Keep being curious, creative, and confident little learners!๐ŸŒŸ

๐Ÿ’• Two bumps, two baby girls, and two very loved members of our team! ๐Ÿ’•

Today is Chantae's last day before she begins her maternity leave, and in just two weeks, we'll be wishing Kim all the best as she starts hers too!

We'll miss them both dearly, but we can't wait to meet the newest additions to the Wilburton Beach Babies family!

Join us in wishing them love, happiness and many cherished memories as they welcome their new arrivals๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›

A big thank you to the wonderful Izzy and Jasmine. We were very excited to welcome back two of our lovely Beach Babies alumni. Now with the added excitement of being allowed to go inside the elusive staff room, forever a mystery while they were in preschool! They have been a wonderful help, and we have loved having them back with us. Especially for those staff members who remember looking after them as small children! Itโ€™s always exciting to see ex-Beach Babies all grown up. They have both been fantastic with the children and incredibly helpful and proactive, and we hope to see them again in the future!

Over the next few weeks the Rising 2โ€™s are exploring schemas (repeated patterns of play).

We will be looking at-
* Transporting: moving objects from one place to another by carrying in bags, buggies and hands.
* Enclosing: hiding objects inside fences, boxes and lines.
* Enveloping: covering items with material, sand, fabric or paint.
* Positioning: placing objects in patterns or lines, making a long train, a traffic jam or sorting different coloured objects into different piles.
* Rotation: moving ourselves and objects in a circular motion, mixing, spinning wheels, running round in circles or drawing circles.
* Trajectory: throwing balls or paper aeroplanes, knocking down sandcastles and tall towers.
* Connection: joining things together, stacking blocks, sticking with tape and glue.
* Transforming: changing the properties of materials, mixing water with sand or mud, mixing ingredients or mixing colours together to make new ones.
* Orientation: looking at things from a different view point, using magnifying glasses and binoculars. Looking under or over objects or through gaps, or coloured materials.

Do you recognise any of these patterns of play in your child? They may have more than one! Happy exploring๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’š
