A UK survey of over 2,000 workers by Reward Gateway | Edenred has revealed just how massive the impact of supportive leadership truly is.

According to the data, employees with supportive managers are:

• 74% more productive at work.
• 73% more likely to stay in their role.
• 71% more motivated to go above and beyond.

The role of the Line Manager has evolved completely. It is no longer just about resource and performance tracking, today’s Managers are expected to guide, facilitate, support wellbeing, and connect diverse teams.

Yet, as Theresa Mayne (founder of Line Manager Academy) points out, many Managers are expected to lead well but are not given the confidence, tools, or organisational backing to do it effectively.

New research published by 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 reveals a startling reality. 35% of UK professionals feel less motivated after their latest appraisal and only 16% leave feeling more positive about their future.

And it only gets worse. Global data from Gallup shows that a mere 14% of employees feel inspired to improve after a review.
