The School Council would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who generously donated food items today. They have thoroughly enjoyed planning, organising, and running their 1-Mile Fun Run.

Children from across the school had a fantastic time taking part in the event, with the water gun station proving to be a particular highlight! They also enjoyed sampling a variety of fruit-infused waters kindly provided by Susan from Phunky Foods, and each child was treated to a piece of fruit generously donated by the Co-op.

It was a wonderful way to come together, have fun, and support the Wigton community. We know that the Food Pantry will be extremely grateful for the kindness and generosity shown by everyone involved.

The School Council would also like to thank all participants and supporters. They are now looking forward to hosting their Board Games Event next Monday.

They would like to say a special thank you to The Co op and to Susan from Phunky Foods for their kind donations.

Year 5/6 Boysโ€™ GoActiv Training & Performance Football โšฝ๏ธ

Today we had 2 squads that went to Harraby: Thomlinson and Thomlinson Harriers.

Both teams were up against tough opposition and unfortunately Thomlinson Harriers didnโ€™t qualify for the next round, but Thomlinson topped the group and went into the โ€˜Champions Leagueโ€™.

In the quarters, a very late goal saw us win 1-0 vs Richmond Hill. Next was the semi finals vs St. Margaret Maryโ€™s, and we scored an early goal and put in a composed performance to win 1-0 again. Finally, we played the final against Warwick Bridge (who beat Harriers in the group stage). It was an end to end game but a strong second half, and a late, late goal from Flynn saw us victorious with a 1-0 win and came home with the trophy!

A brilliant day of football, and both teams battled hard throughout - regardless of the scoreline. Well done everyone! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

A message from Cumbria Police

Police are continuing to urge parents to monitor what children are looking at on their phones and online to help protect youngsters from any dangers.
Officers are reminding parents following concerns in west Cumbria in recent days about the content of a WhatsApp group in which children were members.
Officers are continuing to reviewing the content at this time but can reassure the community there was no self-harm content involved.
We are also constantly working with partners to support and educate children.
But the most important person in a childโ€™s life is usually their parent or guardian โ€“ so we would ask parents to take the time to check childrenโ€™s phones and devices to ensure children are safe.
Concerns about social media groups can be reported direct to the platform owners but police are keen to learn more about any groups that may pose risks to children.
You can call officers on 101.
