Last week in Reception, we learned about the oceans of the world. We spent some time locating the different oceans on a map, learning about which animals could be found in each ocean. We also talked about how we need to look after our oceans.
In our provision, we made play dough sea creatures and painted beautiful fish. We also practised our counting of sea creatures and wrote about sharks, jellyfish and whales.

π We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2025/2026 academic year. π
The School Games Mark is a government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of sport, PE and activity throughout the curriculum and beyond.
As part of our application, we were asked to fulfil criteria in areas of participation, competition, workforce and clubs and we are pleased that the hard work of everyone at our school has been recognised and rewarded in this way.
Our children fully embrace every opportunity. They get involved, learn new skills, and make us proud every step of the way. π
A huge thank you to our staff, families and our wonderful children for their positivity, teamwork, enthusiasm and support. β₯οΈ
An extra thank you to Sharon and Gareth, from Wigan School Games, who continue to offer a fantastic support network. ππΌ

Year 2 had a fantastic first afternoon in our forest school.
We began our Science topic of plants by learning about their beginnings and what they need to survive.
We enjoyed a song and hot chocolate by the fire and even had a special delivery of a birthday cake to share from our very kind friend!
What a great start!

π³πͺ’ Haigh Hall day 2 was a true test of bravery for Year 2 πͺ’π³
We got our helmets and harnesses on and hit the heights of the low rope course and the climbing wall.
We showed fantastic friendship when cheering each other on and our teachers were so proud of how much we all pushed ourselves to try new and sometimes scary things!
The sun came out, so we thought weβd fit a round of golf in too!
