The Home Education Hub is going from strength to strength! 💛🖤

Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen young people get involved in creative, practical, active and interest-led activities, while building confidence, friendships and a real sense of belonging.

The feedback from families has been amazing:

💬 “Looks like another amazing session! The boys are super excited to come back.”

💬 “Another brilliant session, you are giving us so much hope, thank you so much.”

💬 “They’ve had a great day again, thank you.”

💬 “C loved this!! Super proud of her.”

This is exactly why we created the Home Education Hub: a welcoming place where young people can connect, create, move and grow at their own pace.

We still have spaces available for this Friday, 2 October, with morning, afternoon and full-day bookings available.

Book your place here:

At Active Futures we're proud to be taking part in the Superkind Social Impact Programme, helping our students learn about important issues and take meaningful action of their own.

Every action linked to volunteering, fundraising, raising awareness and helping others helps us work towards our Social Impact Schools Award.

A wonderful morning of community, kindness and coffee! ☕💚

Last week, on Wednesday, Active Futures Academy and Longshoot Church of Christ, Wigan joined together to host a Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising an amazing £350 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

It was so nice to see our young people showing the confidence to engage positively with the local community and even running the whole raffle. They were an absolute credit to themselves and made us proud.

Thank you to everyone who came along, donated, baked, helped out and supported the event. It was lovely to see our community come together for such a special cause.

We’re grateful to everyone who helped make it happen. 💛

🧵 Something exciting is coming to the Home Education Hub! 🧵

On Monday 28 September, we’re delighted to be linking up with This Kid Sews to bring sewing to Active Futures Foundation.

There will be two one-hour taster sessions:

🧵 Morning session
🧵 Afternoon session

These sessions are included as part of the normal Home Education Hub booking, but there are a limited number of places available for the sewing activities.

Sewing will be optional, and there will still be a range of other activities taking place at the Hub throughout the day. Young people can choose what they would like to get involved in, at their own pace.

This is a wonderful opportunity to try something new, develop a practical creative skill and enjoy the satisfaction of making something for yourself.

Places at the Hub can be booked through Bookwhen:

https://bookwhen.com/activefuturesfoundation

Bookings Available:
Morning - 9.30am - 12pm
Afternoon - 12pm - 2.30pm
Full Day - 9.30am - 2.30pm

One week in at our Home Education Hub!

It’s hard to believe that our Home Education Hub has already been open for a week.

We’ve enjoyed a brilliant mix of activities, including outdoor orienteering, creative projects, cooking, strategy games and time spent learning together.

The biggest positive has been seeing young people grow in confidence, build friendships and relationships, and enjoy having the freedom to express themselves in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Thank you to all the families who have joined us and helped make our first week so special. We’re excited to see how the Hub continues to grow.

More young people through the doors at our centre, experiencing how education can be done differently, but still develop and support individuals.
