Yesterday, our Year 6 children gathered together in St Wilfrid’s church for their Leaver’s Eucharist – a special moment of reflection, thanksgiving and celebration as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their journey.

Within the beautiful surroundings of our church, our children had the opportunity to pause, reflect on their time at St Wilfrid’s and give thanks for the many experiences, friendships and memories that have shaped them.

Our Christian vision, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” (Phillipians 4:13), has been at the heart of our school family. Today’s Eucharist was a wonderful reminder to our Year 6 children that, as they move forward, they are never alone.

They can face new challenges with courage, kindness and confidence, knowing that God’s strength and guidance are always with them.

A huge thank you to Rector Andrew, Dr Sheila And Reverend Cath for leading such a meaningful service and to everyone who helped make the Service so special.

Year 6, as you step into your next adventure, remember that you are always a part of the St Wilfrid’s family. St Wilfrid’s Church, Standish

Today we came together as a school family to celebrate our incredible Year 6 children at their Leaver’s Service and award ceremony.

It was a morning filled with pride, reflection, laughter and a few tears as we looked back on the wonderful memories, achievements and friendships made during their time at St Wilfrid‘s.

Congratulations to all of our award winners – you should be incredibly proud of your achievements. However, we truly believe that every single one of our Year 6 children is a winner. Each of you has grown in your own unique way, shown kindness, resilience and determination, and left your own special mark on our school.

We are immensely proud of the young people you have become and know that you have a bright and exciting future ahead of you.

As you prepare to spread your wings and begin your next chapter, remember that you will always be a cherished part of the St Wilfrid‘s family.

Thank you for the memories, the laughter, the smiles and the joy you have brought to our school. We wish each and everyone of you every happiness and success for the future.

Once I sent St Wilfrid’s child, always a St Wilfrid‘s child!

We are incredibly proud of Zoe in Year 4, who has won her age group category at the Wigan Young Musician of the Year competition!

This fantastic achievement is a reflection of Zoe's dedication, talent and hard work. It was an absolute delight to hear her perform, and earlier in the day she kindly shared her musical talents with our Key Stage 2 children, who thoroughly enjoyed listening to her performance.

We are also incredibly proud of Holly, one of our former pupils, who was a finalist in the senior competition. It is wonderful to see our children and former pupils continuing to flourish and achieve such success.

Well done, Zoe and Holly, on this well-deserved success. We wish you every success as you continue your musical journey and look forward to seeing all that you achieve in the future!
