GCSE’s are in full swing now and most of you got some absolutely brilliant questions, especially for Macbeth! It’s been lovely to hear how confident most of you felt after your exam, so well done!
Back to this evening and my lovely KS3 pupil. Today we did some practice with word classes and identifying different types before we moved on to analysing a soliloquy from Hamlet. Another excellent session with fantastic ideas, and I think it’s safe to say that Shakespeare won’t be holding this pupil back! 👏🏻

🚨 It’s happening! It’s exam time! 🚨
Here we go! You have one week of revision left before your English paper. One week today and your first English exam will be done.
That means that there is still plenty of time to make sure you know:
✅ Your characters and plots
✅ Your key quotes and what they mean
✅ Which poems you can compare and why
✅ How to structure your answer
✅ Which questions award marks for context
And everything in between!
Remember, you are so close and have come this far. Be confident, believe in yourself and keep pushing through these last hurdles. You can absolutely do this!
Good luck to all of my pupils, past and present, who are beginning their GCSE’s now. You’ve got this 🙌🏻

🐰 Happy Easter Holidays 🐰
Saturday morning was all about focusing on structure. The structure question is definitely a tricky one and can throw a lot of people, but with a bit of practice, this pupil is starting to feel a lot more confident with it. Hasn’t she done amazing? 🤩
I am off for a few days on holiday, but make sure you are still revising in between your well earned rest over the half term! I’ve heard that Easter eggs go down a treat with a serving of Macbeth revision! 🥚

🪞 She Walks in Beauty 🪞
Another fantastic Friday session exploring Lord Byron’s work. Many pupils find this a tough poem to engage with but yet again, I left this session feeling thoroughly impressed!

A bit of a quieter week this week!
As the Easter holidays approach, we’ve slowed down this week. However, don’t be fooled, those who have still had their weekly lessons have absolutely smashed it! Still working hard, still putting tonnes of effort it and still making sure to revise. Well done to everyone over the last week 👏🏻
🚨 GCSE’s truly are just around the corner, so keep your foot on the pedal and reach your goals! 🚨
