🌈🔢 Marvellous Maths in Toddlers! 🔢🌈

Our Toddlers had so much fun during their maths activity morning! 🧸✨

The children explored colours by matching different objects to the correct coloured cups. They used a range of fine motor skills to carefully pick up, move and place each object while developing their colour recognition. ❤️💛💙💚

We also counted the paper and objects together, with some children counting all the way to 10 with a little support from our practitioners! 👏🔟

At another activity, the children used chalk blocks and number stones to practise making number marks and count the dots they could see. 🖍️🪨

It was wonderful to see the children remaining focused, engaging with their friends and building their early mathematical skills through play! 💛🌟

🎒✨ Getting School Ready! ✨🎒

Our Pre-School children have been busy developing their fine and gross motor skills as they prepare for their exciting next chapter – starting school in September! 💛

🌈 Using their pincer and palmar grasps, the children have been sorting colourful pom-poms, strengthening those little hands and fingers ready for writing and other classroom activities.

👐 Through playdough, they’ve been pinching, pulling, pointing and squeezing, experimenting with different marks while building strength and control.

🧱 Our Pre-Schoolers have also been putting their whole bodies to work, using their arms, legs and backs to safely transport large blocks and create their own amazing structures – transforming them into boats, buses and cars through imaginative play! 🚗🚌⛵

🎨 During arts and crafts, they’ve been developing their hand-eye coordination using glue spreaders, exploring pasta shapes to create different marks and experimenting with colour mixing.

Every squeeze, stretch, lift and mark helps develop the skills, confidence and independence our children will take with them as they begin their next adventure at school. 🌟📚

Eligible families could receive 15 or 30 hours of funded childcare from September through the Best Start in Life scheme! 💛

To access your funded hours from September, you must apply for your childcare code by 31st August. However, we strongly recommend applying as early as possible to allow time for your application to be processed.

Once your application has been approved, you will receive an 11-digit code to provide to the nursery.

🏖️🌊 In Babies, we had a lovely time exploring our senses by creating a beach-themed tuff tray! 💙 We used a range of blue coloured paper to represent the sea 🌊 and crumbled Weetabix to represent the sand 🏝️, giving the babies lots of different textures to touch, feel and explore. 🤲✨

The babies were encouraged to use buckets and spades 🪣🥄 to scoop, pour, fill and empty the materials, supporting their hand-eye coordination 👀🤝 and developing their fine and gross motor skills. 💪🧸 They enjoyed using their hands and fingers to feel the crunchy texture of the Weetabix 🤏 and to move the paper around the tray. 🌊

It was lovely to see the babies showing curiosity 😊, concentration 👀 and excitement 🎉 as they explored the different materials. Each baby had a big smile on their face 😄 as they joined in, and they appeared to really enjoy this fun, hands-on sensory experience. 🥰💙🏖️

🌞This week while the weather has been very hot we have had lots of fun with waterplay at the times we can go outside when it isn’t too hot for us .

🌸We had lots of fun with washing the animals with our sponges even though we are good at making things messy we also love to clean especially when it comes to water. We have also been exploring new materials in doors and outdoors like ice we loved touching the ice then touching our faces and legs to cool us down we were using focus words like melt , cold and water.

🏫We have had lots of fun in nursery this week.
