Earth Day
We had a lovely time celebrating Earth Day in Tweenies. We talked together about our planet and noticed the different colours we can see on Earth (the blue oceans and green grass). The children then chose from a range of coloured paper, practised tearing it into smaller pieces, and carefully arranged and stuck it down to create their own Earth pictures. This was a great opportunity to develop fine motor skills, follow simple instructions, and begin to understand how we can look after our world.

Last week, we had a lovely time enjoying our morning routine with some fun activities. The children especially loved using the blue playdough, getting creative with the cutters to make different shapes and animals. We encouraged lots of language by using “wow words” like roll and push to support their speech and communication.
Before heading outside, we asked the children who would like to help water the plants, and they were very excited to join in. Using the watering cans, we talked together about flowers, the sunshine, and animals, linking our conversations to the theme of spring. It was a really enjoyable and engaging experience for everyone!

Easter 🐣
We had a fantastic day in Toddlers, we had an easter egg hunt in the garden, we even managed to find all the eggs; we were learning our colours ad talking about the colours of our eggs. We also had a brilliant Easter party where we did lots of fun arts and crafts such as drawing, sticking and gluing and exploring our sensory tuff tray (we had pom poms easter animals and colourful tissue paper). All these activities where fun and to help develop the children’s understanding the world as well as their physical development such as fine motor skills.

We had a truly wonderful time at our Easter party on Thursday! The room was filled with smiles as we explored beautiful pastel Easter colours and took part in lots of fun, seasonal activities. One of our favourite games was an exciting Easter egg hunt, where we played hide and seek with the eggs and searched for them hidden among the colourful paper. Everyone was so enthusiastic and proud when they found an egg!
We also got creative and made our very own animal masks. Once they were finished, we enjoyed pretending to be different animals as we moved and played around the room, which created lots of laughter and imaginative play. It was a lovely day full of creativity, and Easter fun, and everyone had a fantastic time celebrating together.

This week in Pre School, we had lots of fun with squares!
We started by talking about squares and how they have 4 sides that are all the same
We then went on a square hunt, seeing what squares we could find both indoors and outdoors. We found lots of squares and talked about how the rectangles that we had also found were different.
We finished off with a sticking and gluing activity where we created some beautiful mosaics using squares of different sizes and colours.

St Patricks Day
Last week, we had a lovely time celebrating St Patrick’s Day with the children! We got creative by making our very own shamrocks using lots of different shades of green. It was a great opportunity to chat with the children about colours, especially recognising which shades were the lightest and darkest.
The children showed fantastic focus as they used their fine motor skills to carefully spread glue across their paper. We loved seeing them so engaged, and they were proud of their finished shamrocks!

Musical Instruments
We had such a lovely time in toddlers exploring all sorts of musical instruments! The children were fascinated by the different sounds and really enjoyed taking turns with their friends.
Everyone picked their favourite instrument, and we even had a little dance session to nursery rhymes like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It was such a joyful, noisy morning, just the way we like it!

Science week.
This week we had a brilliant time celebrating Science Week with our Tweenies! The room was buzzing with excitement as we got hands‑on with a super fun volcano experiment. We mixed baking soda, white vinegar, washing‑up liquid and lots of colourful food colouring to create our very own fizzy, bubbling eruptions.
It was such a joy watching their faces light up as the volcanoes overflowed. They loved choosing their own colours too, confidently recognising and naming red, yellow, green and blue.
