πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I can't take the credit for this post, but I can certainly relate to it. 🀣🀣🀣

Dear Government,
As you sit comfortably in your lovely air conditioned offices discussing the red weather warning, we'd like to provide an update from preschool.
We are currently caring for 26 children aged 2 to 4 while slowly transforming into human puddles.
At 9:15am a child burst into tears because the pretend tea set had run out of tea.
Not actual tea.
Pretend tea.
A full investigation is underway.
To keep everyone cool, we introduced water play.
This was a mistake.
Within minutes there was water on the floor, the tables, the chairs, the children, the staff, and somehow inside a toy box on the other side of the room.
A T Rex was drowned 14 times.
One child shouted:
"HE'S DEAD!"
before immediately bringing him back to life and drowning him again.
Another child spent twenty minutes carefully filling a jug with water, only to completely lose their mind when it overflowed.
This was apparently the jug's fault.
At one point a child screamed:
"HE STOLE MY AIR!"
We're still not entirely sure what crime had been committed.
Lunch time arrived.
The children had spent all morning telling us they were starving.
One opened their lunchbox and cried because they had a cheese sandwich.
The same cheese sandwich they've eaten every day since the dawn of time.
Another refused to eat their Mini Cheddars because they were "too spicy".
Mini. Cheddars.
A third child licked a grape and announced they were full.
Meanwhile, the staff sat down for lunch.
A lovely six seconds of peace before hearing:
"JOSIEEEEEEE!"
from somewhere in the building.
No one knows where.
No one knows why.
The afternoon session brought fresh challenges.
One child burst into tears because somebody was sitting in their spot.
The spot was the floor.
Not a chair.
Not a cushion.
The floor.
All 500 square feet of it.
The accused was asked to move anyway because frankly nobody had the energy for court proceedings.
Another child spent ten minutes searching frantically for a toy they were holding in their hand.
By 2pm the children were still running around like they'd been plugged directly into the National Grid.
Meanwhile the staff were so hot and sticky we were moving around the room like melted candles.
The neck fans were doing their best, but mostly just circulating warm regret.
One member of staff was later heard whispering:
"If that dinosaur gets drowned one more time, I'm joining him."
So next time a red weather warning is issued, please come and spend a day with us.
No air conditioning.
No office.
No meetings.
Just 26 preschoolers, a water tray, a repeatedly drowned dinosaur, a floor ownership dispute, a child accused of stealing somebody's air, and another having a breakdown because their jug contained exactly the amount of water they put in it.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Yours faithfully,
The Preschool Team

Finding novel ways to try to stay a little cooler during the summer. β˜€οΈβ„οΈ

Rescuing bugs and animals from the ice. 🧊 πŸ₯΅πŸ₯ΆπŸ’¦

Learning lots of new words, understanding more about cause and effect, early science, maths, playing and exploring, developing fine motor skills, working together.

It's a lot more than just playing. πŸ˜ƒ
