What a fantastic week we have had in Preschool ✏️ 😊
On Monday morning, we were able to watch a pantomime of 'The Wizard of Oz'. This was so exciting and the children were all engaged, sat beautifully watching on 🧙♂️
On Tuesday GB Gold Cycling Medallist Danny Butler came in to school to do a fitness circuit with the children. We had so much fun 🏃 🏆
Carrying on with our tooic for this term 'The Big Wide World' we have been reading 'Maisy goes on Holiday' and we have been exploring different types of holidays and what we need to pack for a hot holiday and a cold holiday 🧳
Our maths focus this week has been ‘Make games and actions'. We have been furthering our subitising skills by playing some games including feeding the Hungry Caterpillar the amount of food they choose on their dot cards and by clapping out how many sounds they can hear.
For our Pathways focus book for this term 'Supertato', this week we have began to read some of the story. It already is such a hit, we love seeing what silly things Evil Pea gets up to in the supermarket. We have been able to use pictures from the book to sequence the events that we have read so far 🫛 🥔 🦸♂️

This week, the toddlers have continued enjoying our "Going on Holiday" theme. We had lots of fun listening to and guessing different sounds that we might hear at the beach, while learning new vocabulary such as seagull, lifeguard, and waves. The children were very engaged and enjoyed talking about their own experiences of going to the beach.
We also enjoyed decorating our own kites and then taking them outside to see if we could fly them. The children were excited to watch their kites move in the wind and had lots of fun running around outdoors.
We have also started looking at our new story of the term, Supertato. The children enjoyed using tweezers to pick up frozen peas and place them into a bowl, helping to develop their fine motor skills. We also discovered that the carrots had been tied up by a mischievous character, so the children became superheroes and worked together to rescue them!
Next week is Sports Week! The children will be taking part in a variety of fun sporting activities and games throughout the week. Children are welcome to come dressed in their sports clothes each day.

During the last half term, Year 4's class reader was Alba the 100-Year-Old Fish. As the children familiarised themselves with the story, they became incredibly passionate about the damaging effects of plastic pollution on our oceans.
Inspired to make a difference, the class decided to take action and wrote letters directly to Downing Street to express their concerns. We were absolutely thrilled to receive an official reply this week!
The children are incredibly proud that their voices have been heard at the highest level, and we wanted to share this fantastic achievement with you all.
Thank you for your continued support.

Dear Parents and Carers,
We are looking forward to our upcoming Sports Day next week and sincerely hope the weather is kind to us.
In the event that we need to cancel due to poor weather, please be assured that the event will be rescheduled. However, the rearranged Sports Day would take place as an internal school event, meaning it would not be open to spectators.
We are keeping our fingers crossed that this won’t be necessary and that we can enjoy the day together as planned!
Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
