Careers Week Highlights β Year 7
Last week during Careers Week, learners from Year 7 in Mrs Hendersonβs class explored their future aspirations by creating fantastic career posters about jobs they would like to have in the future. As part of the activity, learners researched the qualifications needed, the skills required for the role and what inspired them to choose that particular career.
Learners also wrote a short overview of the job role, helping them better understand what the career involves on a day-to-day basis and the pathways they could take to achieve their goals. It was great to see such a wide range of ambitions and the enthusiasm learners showed when thinking about their futures!

Learning Beyond the Classroom!
Last week, as part of our Careers Week, our learners had an exciting and inspiring experience as firefighters from Hindley Fire Station visited school with their fire engine. Learners had the opportunity to speak directly with firefighters about their role, the skills required for the job and the different career pathways within the fire and rescue service. Learners also explored the fire engine, discovering the equipment used to respond to emergencies and gaining a real insight into what a day in the life of a firefighter looks like. π
Meanwhile, our Inspire learners took part in an energetic Dance Workshop, where they explored movement, teamwork and self-expression. The session encouraged creativity, confidence and collaboration while highlighting the opportunities available within performing arts and creative careers. π
A huge thank you to the team from Hindley Fire Station for sharing their time and expertise with our students and helping bring careers learning to life! Also, a huge thank you to Ellesha Doubleday for her work with our Inspire learners engage them with her passion and enthusiasm, they had a blastπ
