So you want to achieve more this year, you want to look, feel and be better than ever.

Excellent, I am SO here for this.

You’ve set a goal, you have a plan of action.

You’re off to a cracking start and you’re buzzing your t**s off.

You’ve got your eyes on the prize and nothing is going to stand in your way...

*incomes curve ball from life*
hormones/stress//illness/kids/relationships/car breaks down - take your pick.

You freak out because that super plan of yours is buggered.

Example:
Your daughter needs a lift somewhere =
“I can’t get to the gym now, that’s me not losing weight this week”
or
You go over your calories after eating out unexpectedly =
“I’ve gone way over my calories today, this week is a write off”

Then it spirals...

“I’ll be fat forever”
“I can’t do this”
“I don’t have time, my life is too stressful”
“I can’t stick to this, it’s just impossible”
“Why did I ever think I could do this?”

*melt down ensues, full on dramatic episode (especially if its TOTM)*

These curve balls (or sometimes full-on s**t sandwiches) will ALWAYS come along. NO MATTER how thorough your plan is or how simple your life might be (simple life!? HA!)

You simply cannot expect otherwise.
You are actually being unreasonable with yourself.
You are setting yourself up for inevitable failure.

Instead of wasting your time and precious energy on giving yourself an emotional ass-kicking..

Stop and breathe for a minute, yes literally.

And (calmly) reassess whether this mishap (and that’s all it usually is in reality) really means it’s all over - plot twist, it isn’t.

Or, do you just need to give your head a wobble, reschedule and/or readjust things.

And continue on your journey to greatness.

Perfect is not a reality, it doesn’t exist in the real world.

We are exposed to perfect images and ideals on a daily basis nowadays.

So it’s not all your fault that you place unrealistic expectations on yourself.

But you have to keep your head when things don’t go as planned in real life.

Human beings are imperfect. There are many things we cannot control, outside events or other people’s actions for example.

And yes, you can still achieve outstanding things in your life without perfection.

You also don’t have to do it alone!
