Witness the focused faces of teams working together,
Mike tasked our apprentices at Salford Community Leisure with producing the tallest and sturdiest tower out of kebab sticks. A small task, but one that requires the teams to engage, listen and communicate away from screens, tech and their everyday tasks to complete one goal.
A great laugh, designed to help the team strengthen their work relationships through a fun, collaborative experience.

Long-term participation in fitness is rarely built on extremes.
More often, it comes from small habits that people can realistically maintain over time.
Hydration, movement, sleep, nutrition and consistency may seem simple, but they can play a major role in helping people stay engaged with exercise long-term.
Understanding this is important for anyone working in fitness, leisure and community wellbeing environments, especially when supporting people who may lack confidence or consistency with physical activity.

Many people start exercising to get fitter, healthier or lose weight.
But what often keeps them going is something deeper.
Confidence. Energy. Routine. Enjoyment. Feeling better day to day.
That’s why working in gyms, leisure centres and fitness spaces is about more than physical health alone.
Understanding wellbeing can be the difference between someone starting… and someone sticking with it.

Earth Day is often associated with environmental action, and rightly so.
But sustainability in the context of industry goes further than that.
Introducing how learners think about their future careers, not just the environment, but the way they operate within it.
That includes environmental sustainability, understanding how our industry impacts the world around us, business sustainability, building careers and services that are viable long-term, and social sustainability, recognising the importance of wellbeing, workload, and longevity in the roles our learners progress into.
Helping our learners build sustainable careers isn’t just about getting qualified. It’s about being able to continue, grow, and make an impact over time.
As we mark Earth Day, it’s a reminder that sustainability isn’t a standalone topic. It’s something that should be embedded into how we think, work, and develop.

Learning beyond the classroom!
One of our tutors, Mike, recently delivered a hands-on padel session with our apprentices at in Holmes Chapel. Giving learners real insight into how this fast-growing sport is developing across the North West.
Sessions like this bring learning to life, connecting theory directly to real-world activities, helping our apprentices understand the products, services, and career opportunities available to them.
