The minded kids and I would love to encourage some younger litterpickers to join us when we attend the community litter picks with Friendsof Spring View. With that in mind we are donating 2 little litter pickers (same as the ones my toddlers use) and 3 bin bag rings to the group.
It really opens your eyes to the local area when the 3&4 year olds are commenting and noticing the litter.
(Each time I attend these community meetings I will bring spare items to loan during that pick) if you have young kids and you fancy a wander this might be a nice way to join in π

The kids and I have joined a new local community group called Friends of Ince and Spring View.
Today there were 4 adults and within a few short minutes we had picked 3 bin bags of litter up!
We love to give back to such a supportive community. If anyone else wants to join us let us know π₯°

Wow! We (well he!) deserved a puddle jump after all that litter picking! We filled a Wigan council bin bag. This boy is nearly 4 years old and he makes such a difference locally and talks lots about the animals heβs trying to help by litter picking! ποΈ β»οΈ
The babies were safe in the pram whilst we picked litter and then we cleaned up and had snack at the pond. Then obviously got the kids out to have a muddy splash!
Looking after our community whilst enjoying the local nature reserve. Canβt be a bad thing

Wowzers! The kindness being shown to me and the children I look after ππππ thank you all so much. We have about 9 months of the year covered for planting something now. This Zozo needs to sort a small greenhouse out during half term and plenty of compost.
We are so lucky and very thankful π watch this space for growing and planting updates

We have been having a really successful year reusing and repurposing β»οΈ craft items but as the days get longer and we are outside much more we have another plan for this year.
I only have a yard here so need to dig deep to sort planters and compost out so I thought Iβd ask on here before I start buying new.
If anyone local has any spare gardening bits please consider my minded children and I π₯π½π

This week we started planting seeds - this is such a good learning opportunity,
Counting, scooping, pressing the seeds into the soil, talking about sunlight and watering, and generally making a huge mess! Later in the pics you will see that seeds planted Monday have started sprouting already much to the absolute excitement of the bigger kids.
We made it to one of our groups with our childminder friends and made lady bird pictures as it was national ladybird day this week.
We checked on the seeds each day and used a water sprayer to water them - this is great for those little muscles developing in the childrenβs hands.
We were donated a load of wildlife books. One of the children said βZoZo thatβs my Amberswoodβ I hadnβt even noticed the heading but yes, F was correct and the magazine had a 2 page spread and photos of one of our favourite places.
As thereβs so many magazines, we used them to make a wildlife collage, this involved scissor use, selecting the pics we most wanted (though some grown up help was needed and I had pre cut a few pics just in case) then the big kids glued the pictures down.
Obviously where thereβs an empty box thereβs a child too- they had a lot of fun in the Amazon box π€£π€£π€£
Lovely week had by all! Next week is national story telling week so each family is sending their favourite book in and Iβll be sharing our favourite with them too!

Ending the week on a super exciting note when the helicopter was circling over the house. Kept us super entertained!
Weβve introduced a visual now and next board to help the children with transitions. Initially itβs just out so they get used to it- hopefully have it in place fully soon.
Lots of mark making and writing
The kids are loving the colour monster book so I purchased some puppets and teddies so at group we expanded on that.
When we got home the big kids noticed the ice in the garden trays so asked if we could play in it/ break it up.
Lovely walk in the rain to feed the ducks! Lovely (and cold for this zozo!) kids were wrapped up warm and super happy !
Great week at little bumbles π π π π

What a great first week back. I reduced the toy offering down by about 80% to see if we would have less box tipping and more playing - and it worked! Iβll rotate the selection in a couple of weeks for other items. An ex mindee came for a play date and left me a lovely message on the writing tablet.
We played in the snow, we balanced on the balance board, we did yoga and pen control (every day!)
I built Lego when the kids napped π€£
We made pizza and made use of one of my pick trays for snack!
What a great week π Iβll try to update weekly but if it gets too much Iβll just do 1 a month π
